Summaries

  • When Celeste gets engaged to Jason after just a few months of dating, her father and the couple's would be officiant, Pastor Mark, insists on putting them through a pre-wedding "bootcamp" filled with Christmas themed challenges. As the couple grows stronger through the festive activities, Pastor Mark learns to trust his daughter's choices.
  • With her temporary position in an entry level job at New York based Gallivali design house ending without she having the nerve to show Marina Gallivali her portfolio, and without having any other design oriented job lined up in New York, Celeste Palmer is heading home to small town Everly not only for Christmas, but seemingly permanently. Wanting to spend more time with her with their relationship up in the air, Jason Arlington, her boyfriend of three months, impulsively decides to accompany her to Everly to spend Christmas with her and her parents, Mark and Judith Palmer, the town's pastor and mayor, respectively. When Celeste and Jason learn from Mark that the church needs to undergo necessary remodeling in the new year in it being beyond repair, the church as is where Celeste has always wanted to get married by her father, Jason, just as impulsively, proposes to her to marry in the church on Christmas Eve in three weeks, she accepting on the spot. While Judith is surprised but delighted, Mark is less so outwardly in feeling that they have not known each other long enough. Deep down, Mark wants Celeste home for good possibly to marry her old boyfriend, his assistant Dean, and still sees her as his indecisive little girl. As such, Mark, not letting them forgo any of his protocols in marrying in his church, tells them that they still have to graduate from his marriage bootcamp. With the bootcamp, Mark unwittingly, or perhaps wittingly, stacks the odds against them, which may affect not only his relationship with Celeste, but with everyone in town.—Huggo
