Josh Brolin, Benicio Del Toro, and Emily Blunt in Sicario (2015)

FAQ

Sicario

FAQ

It can be seen that the water jug was placed on the floor by the drain and was never moved as the torture continues. The directors purposely left this scene ambiguous, leaving it up to the viewer to imagine what Alejandro could be doing behind closed doors and the camera turned off.

The sounds may imply Alejandro was beating Guillermo. Alternatively, given we see Alejandro shoving his crotch in Guillermo's face, he may have forced Guillermo to give him oral sex. But that also runs the risk that Guillermo could bite Alejandro's penis off. So a beating is the most likely explanation. We also see Alejandro drinking water, so it's possible he urinated in to Guillermo's mouth.

Sort of. The origin of the word is Latin, deriving from "sicarius", (proper accented letters available on Wikitionary) meaning "murderer" or "assassin". So it was not the zealots of Jerusalem that coined the term, as implied by the poorly-phrased first sentence of the introduction. It was coined by the Romans that the sicario hunted.
