Bleach TYBW Season 3 (The Conflict) Episode 9: Don't Chase a Shadow!
Our Goat Kyoraku Shunsui! It was awesome to see his Bankai in action in what was a fight that's quite different from what you normally find in an action shounen.
Bankai...KATEN KYOKOTSU KARAMATSU SHINJU! - Probably one of the most beautiful and elegant Bankai in all of Bleach-verse. It was truly an unforgettable experience where we witnessed something grandiose - almost a transcendent journey. And this is hardly a coincidence, considering how strongly Buddhism is woven into the essence of this episode.
This was also one of the most, if not the most, abstract battles in the entire series. It feels very much like a culmination of the transcendense, high-concept power dynamics that have been increasingly emphasized throughout Bleach's final arc. This trajectory, propelled by the introduction of the Sternritter-depicted as elite warriors imbued with strong holy connotations-reaches a powerful climax here.
Kyoraku's Bankai reveal is the epitome of Bleach brilliance! The atmospheric shift, combined with the hauntingly poetic tragedy of Katen Kyokotsu: Karamatsu Shinju, is simply breathtaking - absolute goosebumps throughout! Each frame is a visual masterpiece, a true testament to the animators' artistry and craftsmanship. The stunning spectacle, illuminated in golden light that starkly contrasts with the profound darkness of his power, leaves an unforgettable impression.
Overall, it can be said that the Kyoraku Shunsui VS Lille Barro battle delivered a truly legendary event. From this day forward, we can now declare it iconic not only in the manga but also in the anime. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a monumental milestone for all of us!
