One piece fan letter plays like a really solid movie. This was yet another masterpiece by megumi san and toei animation, this portrayed how the normal people of the one piece world viewed the straw hats. This really puts in perspective how absolutely gigantic and invincible straw hats and for that matter any pirate of their caliber is compared to the normal people. This follows the story of a girl who wants to give a fan letter to nami personally to make sure that she knows how much she means to the girl, i won't ruin it but it is done perfectly. This also has tons of funny moments in between, the perspective of marines and specifically two marines is also heartfelt, i am still amazed at how the op staff and ishitani were able to convey such a touching story with giving proper respects to SH in such an amazing manner. It is an amazing time to be a one piece fan, i love how the edited version of the sabaody is also coming up to keep us company during the breaks, in any case, if you are a one piece fan, you must not waste any time and watch this immediately, it is most definitely worth the time. And also thank you megumi ishitani for being born and Oda too obviously.
It is simply great to be able to watch the events from a different perspective than the original work, showing that straw hats have fans everywhere and that they are admired by some people around the world.... I cried a lot when watching and the animation, it's a movie thing! 20 minutes that passed as if it were seconds... Having this view from another perspective brings us the desire to continue seeing everyone's reaction to the other events that happen in the series...my only wish would be for one piece to be known by everyone in the world is a phenomenal anime thank you Magumi Ishitani for doing so much for us that God continues to bless each day more.
Fan letter, more like a love letter to One Piece fans all over the world.
Our beloved director Megumi Ishitani created yet another masterpiece along character designer and animation director Masami Mori with the helps of incredibly talented animators we have come to known over the years. Every department of the production displayed their full potential such as sound direction, composting, storyboarding, even voice acting.
Imagery shown through impeccably creative storyboards with ton of little details like cover story references and power-scaling debates are only testaments to how capable Ishitani is while having a full grasp of One Piece as a whole. Plus, Mori's soft design and lively character acting animation/supervision only complements to such artistic direction.
Storytelling is also masterful in this generational special. Showing the perspectives of relatively ordinary people in this universe which leads to them being inspired by the Strawhats and set sail to their journeys is very touching as we, the viewers feel the same every time we sat on to watch One Piece. We, no matter how unimportant we may seem in the grand scheme of things, can pursue our dreams and achieve many great things in this journey called life.
Let's set sail to the New World and continue to experience amazing adventures. Thank you One Piece...

To put it simple; It's a love letter for long time One Piece fans as myself, the Art, direction, story board, writing and animation is beautiful. The brothers' part mirroring Luffy and Ace (somehow) during Marineford was eaasily my favorite. The mood shifting when this came on left me shook to my core. Plus that monologue with it? Perfect!
And seeing Marineford from the perspective of a normal marine/person was genuinely the best part. It really puts you into perspective just how monsterous characters like Mihawk, Crocodile and the main characters are here. Like they're fighting surrounded by ants, these soldiers are fighting just to stay alive while Mihawk and Crocodile are not worried about dying in the slightest.
Master Piece.

This episode surpassed all expectations and is better than every single One Piece episode I have ever watched. Seeing the world of One Piece from the perspective of an ordinary citizen is refreshing and really gives a different outlook compared to the romanticized perspective of the Straw hats. The opening sequence of the episode was like eye candy. It showed the Paramount war in a modern style and makes fans wish for a remake with improved animation. The emotional impact in several scenes throughout the episode really delivers. The direction and animation throughout the episode is breathtaking and leaves you wanting more.
