- [first lines]
- Ellen Ripley: Final report of the commercial starship Nostromo. Third officer reporting. The other members of the crew - Kane, Lambert, Parker, Brett, Ash and Captain Dallas are dead. Cargo and ship destroyed. I should reach the frontier in about six weeks. With a little luck, the network will pick me up. This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off.
- Working Joe: Why not ask me about Sevastopol's safety protocols?
- Working Joe: Running causes accidents.
- Working Joe: You and I are going to have a talk about safety.
- Working Joe: With Seegson, there is someone behind you every single step of the way.
- Working Joe: Strange.
- Working Joe: Follow me, please.
- Working Joe: Don't run.
- Working Joe: It seems you and I have a problem.
- Working Joe: I'll have to report this.
- Working Joe: You're starting to test my patience.
- Working Joe: I'm going to catch you.
- Working Joe: You're going to hurt yourself.
- Working Joe: If you find this facility in a state that isn't to your liking, please let us know.
- Working Joe: You are becoming hysterical.
- Working Joe: Working together for a safer, better connected Sevastopol.
- Working Joe: We're experiencing a heightened hazard level today.
- Working Joe: You really shouldn't be here.
- Working Joe: This is a safety breach and will not be tolerated.
- Working Joe: I don't understand what you're doing.
- Working Joe: That isn't authorized in this facility.
- Working Joe: Protected area compromised.
- Samuels: Look, Ripley. When this job came across my desk, I read the case history. I know why you're working in the region where she went missing. You're still looking, aren't you? I've been cleared to offer you a place on the Torrens, if you want to come along. Maybe there'll be some closure for you.
- Working Joe: Something amiss?
- Amanda Ripley: Taylor. Good morning.
- Taylor: Ripley, it's certainly not good and I very much doubt it's morning either.
- [pause]
- Taylor: Sorry. I feel like death. I don't know how you people deal with hypersleep regularly.
- Amanda Ripley: You get used to it.
- Taylor: I don't do long-haul very often. Most legal execs don't travel further than the coffee machine.
- Amanda Ripley: I'm surprised Weyland-Yutani felt the need to send legal at all.
- Taylor: The loss of the Nostromo and its cargo cost the company quite a lot of money. It's important we find out what happened. If I can close the case with a conclusive accident report, it'll look great with my superiors.
- [pause]
- Taylor: I'm sorry. That was insensitive. I realize your mother has been missing for fifteen years and you...
- Amanda Ripley: It's okay. We'll both get what we want, right?
- Taylor: Have you seen Samuels? He's probably been up for hours.
- Amanda Ripley: I'll catch up with him.
