    Masterpiece Animation and Liliana Story

This is one of those rare episodes that you don't just watch-you experience every second of it. Liliana is a true breath of fresh air, and her scenes are nothing short of mesmerizing. Her presence adds a new layer of depth to Re:Zero, reminding us that this world isn't just about suffering and struggle but also about the beauty of expression and the power of human (or demi-human) spirit.

This episode is a testament to how Re:Zero can surprise its audience, delivering not just intense battles and dramatic twists but also moments of sheer inspiration. Whether you came for the action, the world-building, or the emotional depth, this episode offers something special for everyone.

    Sun Princess's Song

One thing I have always loved about Re:zero whether it be the Novels or the Anime are the named Chapters/Episodes. They always tend to build on the characters and the world in such a unique and driving way and this episode is no different. I love the form of life they add to the story and character that the episode is designed around. Now you may ask...is this episode filled with action and down to the bone insane, no BUT its filled such heart and passion that you can feel the love resonate completely out of the screen. Liliana has become one of my favourite characters this arc in sheer presence and the most pure entertainment I feel when seeing her on the in the show. SIDE NOTE...Priscilla is a Bad B**** and deserves to be told that. She really takes over when on the screen and her presence alone is just fantastic. The anime does her so well especially in this latest season and I cant wait for more of her.

Time wasted on flashback and Terrible Animation

This episode turned out to be quite weak due to a poor balance between key events and unnecessary inserts. Instead of focusing on the main conflict-the confrontation with Regulus-the writers wasted an enormous amount of screen time on Liliana's flashback, which adds nothing of value to the story. As a result, the episode's pacing completely fell apart, and the tension built up in previous episodes was completely drained.

But the biggest issue here was the animation. It was simply terrible, especially the scene with Priscilla-one of the worst animated moments I've ever seen in Re:Zero. It felt like the animators rushed through it, with little attention to detail or fluidity. The fight with Regulus was already cut short, and in the remaining scenes, character movements were stiff, attacks felt weightless, and facial expressions were sometimes completely lifeless. It gave the impression of an unfinished product, especially compared to previous episodes, which featured decent fight sequences.

While the visual presentation tries to maintain the masquerade atmosphere, the animation flaws and poor direction ruin the immersion. Regulus still looks menacing, but since his fight was significantly reduced, he doesn't feel as threatening as he should. Ultimately, the episode does not provide any meaningful progress-it simply drags out the runtime with unnecessary scenes and leaves the viewer frustrated.

If the animation had been at an acceptable level, Liliana's flashback had been removed, and the fight with Regulus had been shown in full, this episode could have been at least average. As it stands, it's one of the weakest episodes of the season.

    The redemption of Liliana Masquerade

I'm completely honest: As I novel reader I didn't like Liliana. It was quite the opposite, everytime Liliana was on screen I was just annoyed. Moreover, the absolute pinnacle of annoyance I felt was in the chapters adapted by this episode. But My god, she redeemed herself. A beautiful backstory with great OSTs/Songs and stunning visuals made it something special. The directing hard carried this Episode, it was the make or break and it absolutely delivered.

Of course, the fights didn't look as good as the previous episodes, some action scenes especially towards the end were pretty good, others were extremely rough tho. It's unfortunate that the production has most likely affected the outcome of some scenes but that doesn't take away the fact, that this episode delivered where it had to deliver. Despite the shortcomings I'm extremely happy with the outcome of this and I'm looking forward to next weeks EP.
