    Sat, Oct 28, 2023
"Through The Lens Of" is a new series by @serhantstudios featuring select listings in the styles of visionary directors. Our second episode dives into the mesmerizing world of Dario Argento's "Giallo" horror genre, transporting viewers to a realm marked by vivid lighting and spine-tingling suspense. This short-film was produced at one of our newest Signature listings, the Northern Penthouse at 65 Central Park West, an opulent 4-bed, 4.5-bath residence now on the market for $16.5M. Caleb Short, the writer, director, and editor of this film chose Dario Argento, most remembered for films like "Suspiria" and "Inferno" that created a new style of Horror in Cinema called "Giallo" for our second episode. Caleb says that Dario is "known for his vibrant and colorful lighting. Dario never needed a context for the sources of his light, he just made sure almost every frame was as spectacular as it could be. Combined with the musical score of mystical synthesizers, and performances by actors seemingly holding their breaths with tension and the weight of the spooky worlds they inhabited - Mr.Argento was a perfect fit for our Halloween episode of "Through The Lens Of".
    Stanley Kubrick (2023)

    S1.E3 ∙ Stanley Kubrick

    Mon, Dec 18, 2023
"Through The Lens Of" is a new series by SERHANT. Studios featuring select listings in the styles of visionary directors. Our third episode delves into the meticulous and atmospheric universe of Stanley Kubrick, masterfully re-imagining a luxury property through his signature symmetrical compositions and immersive visual storytelling. This short-film was produced at one of our newest Signature listings at 993 Fifth Avenue, a one-of-a-kind Emery Roth-designed full floor penthouse duplex. Caleb Short, the writer, director, and editor of this film chose the legendary Stanley Kubrick for this listing to, as he says, "match the listing's formidable grandeur, strength, and timeless appeal, qualities shared by both Kubrick and 993 Fifth Avenue. Kubrick's sense for symmetry, for pace, and for nuances in sound and performance that catch the audience off guard, while never swaying from our trust in his choices, almost define what it means to be a great filmmaker. Kubrick was a master of cinema thanks to this great authority, turning the pages of a strange and beautiful book for his eager audiences.
    Frank Capra (2024)

    S1.E4 ∙ Frank Capra

    Thu, Feb 8, 2024
"Through The Lens Of" is a series by Serhant Studios featuring select listings in the styles of visionary directors. Our fourth episode delves into the heartwarming and optimistic vision of Frank Capra, showcasing a home where every detail tells a story of hope, community, and the beauty of everyday life. This short-film was produced at one of our newest listings, 28 Cliff Street, Apartment 4, a luxurious loft living space that combines contemporary design with historic charm, offering a unique blend of industrial chic and modern elegance. Nestled between the Financial District and South Street Seaport, this full-floor duplex with a private rooftop terrace embodies the Capra-esque belief in the potential for personal transformation and the power of a supportive community. Caleb Short the writer, director, and editor of this film chose the legendary Frank Capra for this as, with the holidays right behind us, the charm of a New York City winter and the nostalgia of Old Hollywood cinema set a perfect tone for this warm home. Capra was a masterful storyteller who gracefully led his audiences through rounded, full stories; in this installment of Through The Lens Of, our team sought to take the audience through a story like Capra.
    Janicza Bravo (2024)

    S1.E5 ∙ Janicza Bravo

    Thu, Feb 22, 2024
"Through The Lens Of" is a new series by Serhant Studios celebrating the artistry of film and architecture. Our fourth episode honors Black History Month by embracing the unique vision of Janicza Michelle Bravo Ford, a director renowned for her daring, original storytelling and visually rich narratives, whose work ranges from the award-winning drama of Gregory Go Boom to the vividly storytelling of Zola. Her approach to filmmaking-marked by a keen eye for detail, bold aesthetics, and a profound understanding of character and setting-perfectly complements the unparalleled elegance and artistic craftsmanship of our featured Signature listing. This short-film was produced at one of our most prestigious Signature listings, 845 United Nations Plaza, #86B. This magnificent penthouse is not just a residence but a masterpiece that offers breathtaking views of the NYC skyline, the East River, the Atlantic Ocean, and Central Park. Spanning over 5,000 square feet, it features an expansive open entertaining space with over 76 ft of south-facing windows that frame the majestic Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens skylines. To discover more about this extraordinary property, visit the link in our bio: Caleb Short, the writer, director, and editor of this film says "Janizca Bravo is a director who leverages humor with a touch of the uncanny, a director who's visual style both soothes you, and occasionally, quite intentionally, catches you off guard, some of her most beautiful frames include an ethereal halation in the light, where the highlights in the frame have a bright roll-off, and the movement of her camera is either quite structural, symmetrical, and playful, or, voyeuristic with long pans or zooms; she is such a unique, singular, and truly creative director who was an exciting fit for this larger than life listing.
