...Young, Black and Gifted is an Award-Winning 9 minute short film written, directed, composed, and edited by Promise Robinson in her first year in the University of Georgia Master's Film Program. At The 2024 HBCU FIRST LOOK FILM FESTIVAL, this film received The Grand Jury selection of "1st Place Overall" and "Best Family and Faith Film". The heart of this story is dedicated to community, and creating the healthy environment for the world around you. It follows a teenage African-American male, Jimmy Robinson who is struggling to find his fit at home and at his predominantly white school. With every day a new target on his back he finally finds his community but in the most unexpected way. With each new friend have an undeniable talent, the community each of them were looking for was finally right in front of them. However there's one big problem...they have to do it in SECRET.
