Easily the best episode

'Wildfire' is how you create a perfect suspenseful episode for a TV series. The acting is phenomenal, and despite how quickly everything moves in this episode, there's still character development. No character in this episode didn't go through some growth, event, or essential realization of something. Additionally, the writing is some of the best I've seen from this series. It's no secret that The Rookie has gone through some pretty questionable writing. Still, you can tell the writers worked extremely hard to deliver a fantastic episode and season at that, and they one hundred percent did so. There's not one point in this episode where something wasn't happening, which I applaud. I was definitely on the edge of my seat for this one. Considering that this isn't a season finale (though it felt it), I'm super nervous about how the season finale will play out in just a couple of episodes. Since this review also has no spoilers, I'll say Nolan, Nyla, Tim, and Lucy are in for one hell of a ride.

Trivia
The sword Glasser grabs near the end of the fight with Nolan is modeled after the swords the Spartan soldiers use in the movie 300 (2006). In-universe it is probably meant to be a replica prop.

Goofs
When Nyla confronted Glasser previously, she said he lied about having a wife and that almost everything he said was a lie. His wife is introduced here. And children. So he clearly didn't lie.
