Emmanuelle Bercot shared the Best Actress Award with Rooney Mara for Carol (2015) at the 68th Cannes Film Festival in 2015.
During Maïwenn's initial meeting with Vincent Cassel to discuss hiring him for the movie Cassel was very critical of Georgio Milevski telling Maïwenn he was one dimensional. After leaving the meeting Maïwenn was unsure if he had accepted the role or not.
Both director and actress in My King (2015) premiered films at the 68th Cannes Film Festival in 2015. Maïwenn directed Mon roi. Emmanuelle Bercot's Standing Tall (2015) starring Catherine Deneuve, Rod Paradot and Benoît Magimel opened the French festival out of competition.
