When a female prostitute was found dismembered in Stockholm in 1984, a murder investigation started that would become infamous. Two doctors were singled out as main suspects of the crime. But what actually happened inside the closed investigation? This is the story of one of Sweden's strangest legal process - and the people who became prisoners of that process forever.

The police had been forced to release the forensic physician Teet Härm. The hunt for Catrine da Costa's killer almost came to a standstill. But then a woman contacted the police. She suspected that her husband had participated in dismembering of Catrineda Costa. And that their little daughter watched it happen. The investigation gained momentum again. Now with a two-year-old as the main witness.

The murder investigation against the two doctors entered a new stage. The mother got a tape recorder to record her two-year-old, and experts were called in to judge if the child really saw a part of a murder. A new police investigator took over the case. It would be his first and last murder investigation.

With the two doctors arrested, this would become one of Sweden's most talked about trials ever. When one sensational witness after another appeared, it seemed clear in most of the media that the issue of debt was altered . But the prosecutor had a poor track of his own investigation and there were documents that told a completely different story about the case of Catrine da Costa.
