Cat's Eye

A remake of the 1983 series by Yoshio Takeuchi (season 1) and Kenji Kodama (season 2), originally produced by Shunzo Kato and Norio Hatsukawa of Tokyo Movie Shinsha studios.

Even if the anime remains "sloppy" compared to Tsuka HOJO's manga, it is still a cult classic with mature character design, an excellent soundtrack, and dynamic narrative architecture.

What remains of it today?

After watching the third episode, not much.

Horrible drawings, jerky animation at times, and blatant incompetence in character design.

As for the story, it's already well known, so there's no interest in it, and that's not what the series was expected to be about!

All the current remakes are either "loli", "crude," or immature. Political and sanitized.

This series is no exception to the rule.

Stop trying to make remakes for money because today's artists clearly have neither the mindset, nor the ability, and even less the skill to offer a worthy reinterpretation.

Go back and watch the 1983 series.

Although I understand the many critics on the animation style, I think I am still relieved that we receive another series.

I really love the anime CATSEYE so much that despite anything seeing it appear in a new way despite in a different anime style (that I don't mind too much) is so exhilirating and exciting. I definitley appreciate the beauty of the 1983 anime and admits it looks better but I think Rui, Hitomi and Ai's personality is really what emphasises the beauty and their perfection, thus I'm glad this anime brings the magic of the anime back again and the sweet moments so far in the episode has me smiling ear to ear. I hope they can finish the series and its going great, I am loving it so much!
