Watched at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival.

The portray of Dr. Maurizio Bini and his focus on working with patents of gender-affirming and infertility treatment is both beautiful and empathetic. Truly a beautiful observation between doctors and patients and Dr. Bini being there for the patients and cares for their success, growth and chances.

Many of the focuses and moments are filmed between conversations. Yet these conversation do not feel dull, rather interesting and engaging. Especially with the social politics and recent events in the world regarding gender and identity, the conversations feel nature, hopeful, and touching. Without feeling sad or hopeless of the masses. You feel a sense of hope with Dr. Bini and you want him to continue to see him help people and do what's best for his patients. The filmmaker is able to help capture who Dr. Bini is and having been upset with the political climate today, I feel happy and hope for more people like Dr. Bini out there.

In a Milanese public hospital, endocrinologist Maurizio Bini helps infertile couples conceive and transgender people successfully transition. These delicate topics are addressed here without judgment or pathos. There is even a touch of humor at times. I appreciated the attentiveness and empathy of this seasoned doctor, who puts his patients at ease and provides psychological support when needed. The few sequences outside the hospital, where we follow him foraging for mushrooms in the Lombard countryside, offer welcome moments of escape. Overall, the film is informative and interesting, even if I would have liked a bit more explanation.
