There are Hallmark movies you enjoy... and then there's Providence Falls. I've watched dozens over the years, but this one? It's in a league of its own. From the moment the story begins, it feels like stepping into a world where love, fate, and second chances intertwine in the most beautiful way.

The chemistry between the leads is electric yet tender. The town of Providence Falls feels like a place you've always wanted to visit-and maybe never leave. And the story? It's not just sweet-it's meaningful. It reminds us that sometimes, life gives us exactly what we need when we least expect it.

Not just Hallmark good, but good full stop.

"Providence Falls" is, admittedly, a rather ludicrous combination of time travel, police work, forbidden romance and angels doing their best to get people's souls squared away whilst fighting 'the other side', but it works. It's engaging and fun, and although you kind of know how it's all going to end - I mean, it IS Hallmark, after all - there are still a few little twists to keep things interesting along the way.

The stars of the show, though, are Katie Stevens as Cora and Lachlan Quarmby as Liam. Fantastic chemistry. You can see it and feel it in every scene.

Let's be honest, chemistry between the leads (or lack thereof) has been the downfall of many a Hallmark production. It isn't a problem here.

Look out for cameos from Hallmark stars Brendan Penny, Jessica Siposs and Niall Matter, who sinks his teeth into a rather interesting role.

Fantastic stuff all around.

In mid-19th century Ireland, thief Liam O'Conner (Lachlan Quarmby) is taken with aristocratic Cora McLeod (Katie Stevens) and her neckless. It ends badly. Since then, Liam has been stuck in the afterlife limbo. Angels revive him and reveal that limbo is ending. All souls have to either go up or down. They give him a chance to redeem himself and send him back into the world where Cora is a new police detective. He has to ensure Cora would match up with another man. There is a thief stealing jewelry and history may be repeating itself.

This is a Hallmark 3-part special event. Apparently, there are three books. At least, Hallmark is trying. That's my best compliment. As for the series itself, it's a little messy. I don't know how closely the TV show is following the books. I would try for something simpler and reduce this down to a two-parter at most. Either that or just do a continuing TV show with this premise. I like the concept, but not necessarily the execution.

Providence Falls is an absolute gem! As a die hard The Way Home fan, I was super happy to give this series a try. It did start off a bit slow for me and I wasn't sure if I'd like it. But, halfway through the first movie I was hooked and was rooting for the main characters. The cast's chemistry is amazing, drawing you deeper into their world with every episode. I absolutely love Liam, Cora, Finn, Suzette and Agaon! Hallmark, PLEASE bring this incredible cast back for more movies!

The main characters have chemistry that builds.

A bit of a mystery with a relationship that longs for more. Time period scenes add depth.

Not the usual cookie cutter formula where even drinking coffee is obviously fake.
