When I stumbled upon the 2014 Thai horror comedy "Rak Rao Khayao Kwan" (aka "She Devil"), here in 2023, I had actually never heard about the movie. But I liked the movie's cover, and with it being an Asian movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to watch it.
However, director Pisut Praesangeam's 2014 movie was lacking in both comedy and horror department. And that made for a rather dull viewing experience. And it didn't help much that the narrative was rather slow paced and the character gallery was sort of dull and irrelevant. So yeah, there wasn't much speaking for this particular movie.
And truth be told, I didn't stick around to finish watching 98 minutes of this prolonged suffering. The movie just failed to provide me with much of any entertainment or enjoyment. And this is not a movie that I will ever return to attempt to finish watching. Nor is it a movie that I will recommend for fans of Asian horror comedies.
I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie. But they didn't really stand a snowball's chance in Hell, as they had nothing worthwhile to work with in terms of script, storyline and character gallery.
For a horror comedy then director Pisut Praesangeam's movie "Rak Rao Khayao Kwan" was a swing and a miss. In fact, the movie's cover was actually the best thing about the ordeal.
My rating of "Rak Rao Khayao Kwan" lands on a three out of ten stars.
