Rayman Legends is the fifth main game in the series or sixth if counting the Rayman Raving Rabbids Trilogy (2006-2008).
In a number of levels, the player has to run and jump in time with the music heard in the background. During the level 'Castle Rock'. the song heard playing is "Black Betty" (best known in the version of Ram Jam); during the level 'Mariachi Madness', a mariachi version of "Eye of the Tiger" is heard; and the level 'Dragon Slayer' features "Antisocial" by Trust.
The first Rayman game to have humans since Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 (2007) (not counting Rayman Origins (2011) in which the hunters from Rayman (1995) were redesigned as humanoids).
There was originally supposed to be a Nintendo 3DS version of the game not only the Wii U version but was scrapped for unknown reasons.
The teensies in this game that need to be rescued were originally intended to be green teensies which were playable in Rayman Origins (2011) the concept was scrapped and they were replaced with teensies with striped clothing additionally the enemies in Teensies in Trouble that look like the livingstones from Rayman Origins (2011) were originally going to wear bandanas around their mouths but the bandanas were airbrushed out in the final game.
