Damian Lewis and Mark Rylance in Wolf Hall (2015)

Trivia

Wolf Hall

Edit
The weaving technique that Elizabeth Cromwell is shown doing with her hands is called Fingerloop Braiding, a popular technique used during the period to make cords, purse strings and laces for clothing.
The series' executive producer, Colin Callender, stated in February 2015 that he hoped that the BBC would commission an extension of the series based on the final novel in Hilary Mantel's trilogy, The Mirror and the Light, which Mantel was then still in the process of writing. Callender said that lead performers Mark Rylance and Damian Lewis were "eager" to return.
Mark Rylance has stated that the codpieces on the otherwise historically accurate costumes were made smaller at the request of PBS who felt that American audiences might be offended.
Peter Kosminsky's decision to film many of the interior scenes by candlelight led to the actors bumping into things, and fearing they might catch fire.
Critics have been "almost unanimous" in their praise of the show, with particular reference to the attention to period detail, the faithful adaptation of the source novels, and the performances of the leading cast members, particularly Mark Rylance as Cromwell and Claire Foy as Boleyn.
