    Third Episode Ruined this Series

I did not expect the third episode to be like this, it ruined what was a great Documentary up until now. I feel led on to watch this so Spike Lee could turn this into a racial thing - sad. 😥 I'm repeating this in order to meet the 300 word minimum.

Another thing Spike Lee has ruined

This is a shame as the rest of the doc is so so good, but Spike really dropped the ball here. The words implanted on screen - why??? The other episodes focused on the individual stories of these people who suffered horribly - why did you not continue this incredible and visceral story telling? I don think that Spike Lee needs to literally tell us about problems with the US govt - why not let the people describe their actual story which is what made the rest of the series so excellent. A real shame. Please stop putting this dude on projects, he had some truly amazing films but he is way past it.

Some very good elements, but it's a mess.

Residents, both past and present, discuss the history of New Orleans and detail what happened after Katrina. New Orleans was left with a huge financial deficit, and massive cuts were made to every service.

It's long and very messy; after two terrific episodes, this third one just felt so out of place. A hoard of people are interviewed, expressing opinions about various topics, but there's no structure.

I was keen to see the legacy-what came after Katrina, the rebuilding process, etc. They do explore it; I was particularly interested in the Brad Pitt housing project and the impacts of COVID, and in fairness, both are discussed.

If you're epileptic, you may struggle with this one as it is frantic, with person after person giving their opinions. I just wish they'd slowed it down, especially as it's such a long final episode.

I definitely get the sense of amazing people who are fighting for what's right; unfortunately, they're up against an immovable structure.

On a personal note, sometimes I feel very disillusioned with this world, people forcing views and ideologies that to my mind are taking us backwards, people like Dr. Calvin Mackie give me hope!

    6/10.
