Dylan McDermott and Maggie Q began dating a few months prior to the October 2014 air date, and became engaged in January 2015. McDermott is almost 18 years older than Q.
Kevin Bacon was originally set to make a cameo as a crossover with The Following (2013), also produced by Kevin Williamson. The producers scrapped the idea saying "one set of our psychos is enough for one universe." When asked about future crossover episodes, Williamson shrugged and stated, "I'm sure Joe Carroll did a fair amount of stalking in his younger years."
All of the cars have one of two license plates, 4SPC or 5SPC.
