Blind imitation of westerners.

The movie lacks any Arab or religious identity.

It's completely detached from Gulf reality - not even 1% close.

We're not against fantasy or imaginative stories, but at least respect the viewer's mind. Imagine the opposite: bringing westerners into a movie and making them get married the Arab way for no valid reason, just for the sake of "let's make a film"?

That's exactly what you did - you brought Arab characters and stripped them of anything connecting them to their country, culture, religion, or even family.

And in reality, in Gulf countries, if anyone were to get married this way, it would be completely frowned upon. People would consider it extremely strange and assume that something is seriously wrong with the individuals or their families.

I don't know which country they're referring to. In Kuwait, we don't have this kind of relationship, nor do we get engaged or married this way! Engagements happen in the presence of the family, not in a restaurant or anywhere like in Hollywood! It's just a blind imitation of what happens in Hollywood. The difference is that Hollywood actors are funny, and these guys are ridiculous and NOT funny at all.

And there is a Kuwaiti saying "ya sheen elserj ala elbofar" which means , "How ugly is a saddle on a cow!"
