Empty and exaggerated movie

The film didn't develop its characters well enough to reach that stage of love or justify the overacting we see. There's a lot of exaggeration, mainly because there's no real emotional buildup or relationship foundation to create that spark of love that could lead to such intense scenes. Honestly, it was disappointing.

Stupidest Plot of All Time

Unbelievably cheesy. Over dramatic. Most unlikable characters in cinematic history.

I have been a cinomophile for 3 decades but haven't seen a worse movie than this. What a disaster.

Movie can't decide what it wants to show or prove to the audience. Acting is so cringe that you feel like closing your eyes or covering your ears.

Don't waste your money

Toxic movie, not worth your time or money, youtube reviews are misleading, I was waiting for movie to end. It literally caused headache. Half the screen time was for songs and slow motion scenes. I am not an expert on acting but as a spectator I was greatly disappointed. I wanted to give zero star but it is not an option so giving minimum possible rating. Wort movie that I have seen in movie theaters.

Nothing New, Old Bollywood

The movie focuses on the same story that we have been feeding from years, nothing new, and if you want to watch it, then throw your logic to trash before entering the cinema. The hero is a CM level politician of Maharashtra, which this movie takes jockingly, a politician in any form can't do what the hero did. His father was a realistic politician. The story should have shown the hero as a son of a big politician rather himself as a big politician. Totally wast of time if you go to find logic, but a good timepass with friends.

Brilliant movie

*Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat* is a romantic drama about Vikramaditya, whose passionate love for Adaa turns into an intense obsession. The film explores how love can shift from devotion to madness, mixing emotions like passion, betrayal, and heartbreak. It's a powerful story showing love's highs and painful lows in a dramatic, gripping way.

So bad that I want a refund

The movie was so bad, really cheap and cringe dialogues and bad acting (wasn't expecting) from Harshvardhan Rane. I don't know why he tried to recreate his Sanam Tere Kasam type acting. It went worse. I really thought it was supposed to be his comeback movie but I think he should take another break or maybe just he could just stay underrated forever by not coming back after His first movie. I wish I could get my refund but anyway.

Worst worst worst

Worst movie, worst script, worst acting. Totally disappointment, looks director had no time to watch what he made. It is disheartening when a movie falls short of expectations, particularly in the areas of performance. Poor dialogue delivery can significantly impact a viewer's enjoyment and engagement. Ultimately, these factors can diminish the overall quality of a film.

Great storyline, average execution

Overview: Really enjoyed the story of this film, an obsessed lover with a woman who clearly has no interest in him, to violent ends. It was novel and different from the usual love stories that we get from the Hindi Film Industry. However, the execution left something to be desired. Firstly, it was about 30 minutes too long and you really felt the runtime in the second half. Had they gotten rid of some of the numerous slow motions scenes it could have been a much more succinct film. Secondly the performances were a mixed bag, but more on that later.

Plot: The film follows the relationship or lack thereof between Vikramaditya Bhonsle (Harshvardhan Rane) a powerful politician vying for the seat of Chief Minister and Adaa Randhawa (Sonam Bajwa) cinema's most famous actress. A chance encounter leads to Vikramaditya becoming obsessed with the clearly unresponsive Adaa. As his behaviour becomes more erratic and dangerous, the actress is left with no choice but to pursue unusual methods of retaliation.

Acting: Harshvardhan Rane - A mixed bag performance from him. On one hand he delivered some heartfelt scenes but on the other, there was a woodenness in some scenes. Furthermore, his English was just not believable for the rich and famous politician's son. They should have left that out completely. The actor was also let down by some very feeble writing.

Sonam Bajwa - the leading lady delivered a masterful performance. She was extremely convincing and emotive. The audience truly sympathised and felt her plight. Additionally, in accordance with the plot, the actress looked sublime the type who does have fans going to extraordinary lengths to be with her. Was good to see Bajwa in a leading role in Hindi cinema and based on this performance she should be climbing to greater heights.

Music: The music was good and soulful. It added a lot to what was going on on-screen.

Conclusion: An interesting watch, not the best movie ever but entertaining. The storyline will keep you hooked.

Mad & Crap Logic, But A Crazy Love Story

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat (2025) : Movie Review -

Since Gen-Z is going gaga over a film like Saiyaara these days, I don't think a little dose of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat will hurt them. In fact, it feels like a mini version of that same passionate madness-made on a smaller budget, with smaller stars-but somehow manages to deliver a punch. At moments, it even beats Saiyaara in its crazy, fiery portrayal of love. Milap Zaveri, a filmmaker who hasn't been very consistent in recent years, and who has mostly stuck to loud 80s-style masala and adult comedies, finally brings a surprising change here. EDKD may not be a high-quality or sensible film by any means, but it's a mad, unapologetic dive into the toxic corners of love-and that madness keeps you hooked till the end. For someone with a filmography including Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai, Satyamev Jayate, Satyamev Jayate 2, Marjaavaan, and Mastizaade, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat feels like a fresh start-a film where Milap experiments with tone, emotion, and passion rather than just noise and chest-thumping patriotism and so-called mass. Considering that, I must say-well done, Milap sir. You've surprised me with this one. I genuinely hope you continue to grow from here, making different films like this, with a bit more sense but the same conviction. Please just don't get back to SMJ2 and Masti 4 types.

The story revolves around Vikram Aditya (Harshavardhan Rane), a powerful businessman and politician, who falls madly in love with a movie actress, Ada (Sonam Bajwa). He proposes to her, only to face a sharp rejection. What follows is his dangerous obsession as he tries to force his love-and marriage-upon her. Vikram is the kind of man who has always gotten everything he ever wanted, and he can't digest denial. The story takes a darker turn when his past tragedy is revealed, which connects strongly to the film's climax. I won't spoil that art . When things become unbearable, Ada fights back. She makes a shocking public announcement: "Whoever kills Vikram within the next 10 days, by Dussehra, I will spend one night with him."

Yes, that line alone is enough to make you question your decision to watch the film-but surprisingly, Milap makes you buy into the madness. It's insane, but it works because of how he presents Vikram's obsession and Ada's growing rage. You keep watching, not because it's logical, but because it's wild. What happens next is best experienced in theatres; the film takes a bizarre but oddly gripping turn after that point.

At times, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat feels like a TV soap, with its loud background score and exaggerated emotions-but I didn't mind that. In fact, it reminded me that the days of intelligent romance like Casablanca or Brief Encounter are long gone. Today's cinema caters to a different audience altogether. If people can cry over Saiyaara-a film with happy ending-then why not EDKD? You can't demand logic here either. The moment you start doing that, you'll miss the film's purpose: to show how love and obsession can coexist in the most dramatic, even foolish ways. That's just a part of perception. Some may buy, some reject, simple.

Ada's move in the second half, where she literally declares her "izzat" as bait to punish her toxic lover, is not something any sensible person would glorify. But again, the same audience that adored the madness of Saiyaara will probably find this thrilling. EDKD clearly represents that section of moviegoers-those who like their cinema loud, passionate, and full of extremes-and it's entitled to find appreciation and success among them.

Harshavardhan Rane delivers a performance straight out of a daily soap-over-the-top, emotional, and full of slow-motion poses. But somehow, it fits the tone of the film. His physique, aura, and the way Milap styles his character make Vikram both menacing and magnetic. I'm sure a section of female viewers will enjoy that intensity. Sonam Bajwa, who's been irritatingly one-note in Baaghi 4 and Housefull 5, redeems herself here. She gets a role that allows her to explore passion, pain, and power-and she nails it. Her portrayal of Ada, a woman torn between fear and fury, is surprisingly engaging. She fails in the parts where she plays a film actress (ironically), but when it comes to portraying a woman fighting back with raw anger and pride, she shines. There's a moment where her eyes do all the talking-anger, heartbreak, helplessness-and I genuinely felt proud of her comeback after back-to-back flops. Shaad Randhawa, as always, fits perfectly in the "buddy of the crazy lover" mold. He's one of those actors you just can't dislike, and he proves that again. Sachin Khedekar, ever the dependable performer, adds gravitas even in a limited role. The supporting cast, though, remains mostly forgettable.

Musically, EDKD carries Milap's trademark passion. The songs Khoobsurat and Mera Hua are decent situational numbers, adding emotion to otherwise chaotic moments. The recreated version of "Koi Jaye To Le Aaye," however, is a letdown. No matter how glamorous Sonam Bajwa tries to look, neither she nor the remix comes close to the magic of the original. Technically, the film suffers. The color grading is poor-typical of Milap's films-and the cinematography lacks polish. The production design often makes you feel like you're watching a soap on Dangal TV, which can really test your patience. The editing too could have been sharper; the film drags in parts where it should have soared emotionally.

Still, I can't deny that Milap's attempt at trying something new deserves some applause. He steps out of his comfort zone of jingoism and sleaze to tell a raw, twisted love story. It's flawed, loud, and ridiculous at times-but it's also passionate, self-aware, and oddly entertaining. For a filmmaker like him, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat feels like a necessary evolution. As a whole, what could have been a disaster turns into an average, watchable affair-thanks to its sheer madness, conviction, and emotional unpredictability. I walked out thinking, "This makes no sense-but I wasn't bored." And in today's Bollywood, that's saying something. Overall, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is a messy, mad, yet oddly addictive love story that thrives on its absurdity. Don't look for logic; just surrender to its crazy romantic chaos.

Too much dramatic and unrealistic

The plot of the movie is too much unrealistic and dramatic. The first half of the movie is a disaster. I am very much disappointed by the performance of Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, for me their duo is not that much of compatible. Though Second half of the movie is just watchable. The music is quite appreciable and few songs as we all know are remixes. Jubin Nautiyal's voice in the background music is sounding quite good. In short, if you're not a drama fan don't watch it.

5 start only for costume designer and the cinematographer

The only good thing about this movie is the costume that the lead actors had carried and their makeup and the cinematography, except that its just a movie that if you don't watch you'll not miss anything below average dialogue, average pace of movie and even the uses of so many song which is not so fit in the story relevance. First half is just seems like a crash it starts with a very good hype that is created around the lead character and then just seen by seen it just fades the relevance. If you are a fan of harshvardhan or sonam than you can watch it for or else you can skip this.

Classic Boring Drama

Where do I even start with this disaster masquerading as a movie? The story is so painfully predictable that I could've guessed the ending during the opening credits. Watching it feels like sitting through a low-budget K-drama with a budget for decoration but none for imagination. Every plot twist lands like a soggy firecracker - disappointing and entirely forgettable. Honestly, it's as if the writers watched Saiyaara, thought, "Hmm, this worked once... let's milk it," and decided to produce a cheap echo of it.

Wow outstanding

AAfter ages have seen such an amazing love story masterpiece, what a comeback it has made in the hearts of its audience. The characters, once thought to be forgotten, have returned with a depth that resonates deeply. Their journey, filled with trials and triumphs, reminds us of the enduring power of love. As the narrative unfolds, it captivates not only through its plot but also through the emotions it evokes in every viewer. This revival is not just a story; it is a celebration of love's timeless ability to inspire and heal.

Ek Deewane ki Deewaniyat- checks all boxes

Ek deewaney ki deewaniyat, address your all emotions, from tv series vibe to 90s classic masala urdu dialouges, first half promises a lot, but second half, I mean director is confused how to proceed with screenplay and finally movie goes in overcorrection mode. Like Thamma this movie too has good songs. One thing this movie will benefit, like Saiyaara, is love story angle, as there is real shortage of good love story. Overall the movie has good story but lacks substance in all departments expects songs.

When Ego Died

When Ego Died

The crowd cheered victory, but truth slipped quietly through the crack of a gun.

Ash knows no master; it clings to all who once held power.

She saw the lesson- that freedom blooms only after surrender.

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is a bold, combustible cocktail of tragic romance and political theatre. Director Milap Zaveri frames an obsessive love story against Dussehra's Ravan-dahan-letting myth, ego, and fate collide in an operatic climax. The film's power spikes whenever the spectacle narrows to two faces and a heartbeat.

Harshvardhan Rane is terrific as Vikramaditya-commanding in public, frightened in private, and ultimately human in the only moment that matters. Sonam Bajwa matches him with quiet ferocity; much of Adaa's arc is written in glances and withheld words, and she sells that restraint beautifully.

The craft team leaves a strong imprint. Nigam Bomzan's cinematography paints in fire and dust; the cross-cutting between the burning effigy and the fatal shot is the film's defining image. Editor Maahir Zaveri keeps the third act tight, letting silence breathe where speeches would have dulled the edge. The multi-composer soundtrack (by Kunaal Vermaa, Kaushik-Guddu, Rajat Nagpal, Annkur R Pathakk, Rahul Mishra, DJ Chetas) is a mood-board that shifts from celebratory pulse to elegiac hush at exactly the right moments.

The script (by Milap Zaveri and Mushtaq Shiekh) occasionally leans into heavy-handed metaphors, and a few beats in the middle stretch the inevitable. But the finale lands with bruising clarity: ego burns, love remains-too late to save, just in time to understand.

Verdict: A visually striking, emotionally sincere tragedy powered by committed leads and muscular craft. Imperfect, but memorable.

Masterpiece

Deewaniyat tells a story that touches the deepest corners of the heart. It's not about a happy ending it's about pure, selfless love that expects nothing in return. The pain of one-sided love has never looked this beautiful on screen.

Every scene feels real, every emotion hits hard. The way the story unfolds slow, emotional, and deeply moving makes you feel both the ache and the beauty of loving someone silently. Deewaniyat proves that even unreturned love can be eternal.

Greatest movie of the decade. Atleast!!!

After watching this movie i wanted to use my hands for the genius director Milap Milan Javeri. He literally made sure that the wikipedia handlers didnt have to waste their time writing a long plot in the movie's wikipedia page. Just 3-4 lines are enough anyways. And it takes immense to direct a movie that has absolutely no story. I mean he did make the lead actors stare at each other and pour out glycerin from their eyes the whole time. Milap javeri is a time traveller because the movie was in 0.5x and literally i felt that i have been watching the movie since ages. If you go out to fetch your popcorn during interval and you miss about 30-45 minutes you need not panic because the story never goes ahead. Logic and sense was never considered while writing the movie if it was ever written. And cringe is an understatement for the dialogues. I am personally a fan of harshvardhan rane's work and i feel really bad for him because he deserved something far better than this. I mean even i can write better. Surely if this story deserves to be on screen then the stories we write deserve way more acceptance. Please making such means of torture does not feel good to pay and get tortured. ( PS - THIS REVIEW DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY SPOILERS AS THE MOVIE HAS NOTHING TO BE SPOILED)

Most problematic movie of the year

What the hell I just saw. It destroyed my eyes and every braincell. I guess the producer hired the director, actors, and other staff. Then he realized he forgot to hire any writer, so they went on the market to get any random hippie to write down such a story. Only a person high on dry stool can write such a story. Main problem of the story, they are literally promoting the creepiness and forcing women for love. Actors are good at their acting.but dialog and screenplay. My god the diarrhea they put on show. I'd love to give -10/1000 for this movie. One of the most problematic film ever. Feeling sad for shreya ghoshal to sing for such awful movie.
