POOR EDITING
The English translation for this French limited web series is UNDER A DARK SUN.
It was a family based murder mystery with competent performances by almost everyone. However after the first 4 episodes which were very fast paced the 5th and 6th episodes began to drag thus reducing the quality of the show. The 4th and 5th episodes should have been tightly edited and merged together thus maintaining the momentum throughout the series. Although there were many twists and turns throughout the series, some of them did not make any sense at all.
6/10 Ps. The lady who acted as Beatrice was extremely loud and way over the top in her acting!

sooo bad
I don't understand how the French can make such great films and such terrible hammy TV drama. This is just awful. Its like eating a huge packet of crisps you might do it but you're not sure why and then you just feel cheap and awful afterwards. The plot has so many holes its ridiculous. The acting and casting is appalling. How did this get on netflix?
Very special thriller
These French series from South of France offered some wonderful views. The landscapes were perfect to set up one of the most brutal family tragedy I have ever seen before on Netflix. Alright, there were one or two opened questions at the end but if you can look away it works as an intriguing thriller guessing during all the episodes who the real murder is. Especially the last three episodes blew me away discovering other surprising details. The boy delivered really a very mature strong performance and his mother too. Congratulations to all of them. 6/10.
The first 15 minutes tells you to stop watching
This is your usual French melodrama. It has all the hallmarks of a bad script, bad acting, a lot of shouting and extreme soapiness. The audio is terrible and it is often not possible to even know what language is being spoken. It is amazing that with all modern sound technology available, French soaps like this still have not mastered how to achieve clear dialog as audio. Isabel Adjani tries to offer some semblance of acting but the carpet like wig that she has to wear is too much of a distraction to not laugh out loud. Overall, it's not worth the watch!
French Suspense/Soapy Noir Series
This French series, full of soapy plot twists surrounding the death of a family patriarch, is well-shot and it's a very good choice for some hours of escapism, if you like fast-moving crime and mystery stories. (I suggest listening to the original, subtitled.) The suspense is handled well throughout. French film icon Isabelle Adjani is excellent as the cold matriarch, at times adding doses of camp humor. Newcomer Ava Baya holds her own as the lead, Guillaume Goix supplies some male eye candy and the rest of the acting is fine. Despite its sunny summer setting this series sticks to the darkness of the storylines and the characters up to the very end. It's not profound, but neither are most crime and mystery shows.
