This was pretty bad.
I'm a huge fan of Spade. Have been going to his shows since the early 90's. But unfortunately, this is another lousy special. It's clear he's not working out his material to perfect the jokes before hand. His stand up used to be situations he was in and he would embellish a little bit. He was great. Now these situations are ridiculous and you can tell that they sound phony and contrived. This special lacks actual jokes. It's ramblings about made up predicaments that he was allegedly in. I mean serious, we are supposed to believe you were haggling with a crazy guy over a chicken nugget. Really disappointing.
I laughed and farted
Lots of chuckle time here. David is of mature age but he will stay immature forever. I enjoyed this so much. His vanity and his silliness just make him very real to me. He definitely has new material to share here, but tells it in a manner like he was the David Spade you fell in love with 30 years ago.
What in the AI?!
Yeah, I said AI... so I am literally in the middle of watching this special, and there was a quick, but beautiful shot of David from the stage vantage point looking into the audience; so I thought, 'wow, that was such a gorgeous shot', I should shout it out in a review. Cut to me rewinding to the 40:53 mark in the special to review it again..hmm?!?...it sincerely looks created by AI (or at VERY least AI enhanced). This isn't a criticism for utilizing the technology (*ahem* Neal Brennan has admitted to using it), I just find it fascinating that any comic would deem it necessary or advantageous to use an artificially created image in such a basely raw human art form - especially in this dire time where we rely on comics to be our touchstone of sanity and reality. If I'm going to be critical of the actual material (that's only fair, right?) it's that it felt lazy...clearly this isn't a true stand up who's been actively creating and working material in the clubs. That's the snobby purist in me, BUT I will say I'm rating this 8/10 because as a GenXer I genuinely laughed A LOT so that's the mark of success, right?

Not the Ace of Spade
I'll make this short but not too sweet...and will try to reach the minimum characters.
I'm a David Spade fan - SNL days and tv sitcoms & film. My new favorite podcast is Superfly and Fly on the Wall with David Spade & Dana Carvey.
I was exited to see this standup comedy show on Amazon.
Unfortunately, this is so dull and stupid...and worse than a rookie comic at The Comedy Store in the Belly Room on Amateur Night. At least I didn't have to leave my home and pay to see this.
12 minutes in, I couldn't take it anymore and had to turn off Dandelion, Season 1, Ep. 1
Sorry David, but the truth hurts sometimes.
Hard to believe this bit was rehearsed and given the greenlight to be televised & aired on Amazon Prime.
The podcast, Superfly and Fly on the Wall, which is mostly spontaneous banter with Dan Carvey is hilarious and filled with quick wit. But this standup routine is simply SuperBad.
I hope there's not a David Spade: Dandelion, Season 1, Ep. 2
Sorry David, but the truth hurts sometimes.
1 star for the Jeff Bezos microphone joke...
Minimum characters met.

I laughed throughout the whole thing!
Just take a minute and watch it! At least the first few minutes - it's not his absolute best, but it isn't bad like other reviewers say!!! It's David Spade and if you watched him in movies, SNL, tv shows, etc., you need to give it a chance instead of reading negative comments and believing them. I haven't always loved Spade(I'm female and in my youth I was put off by his womanizing character in a show, but LOVE him and all his shenanigans now!!) so this comedy special was great and a little different which makes me love him so much more!! He's more down to earth and real - what a pleasant surprise!! <3
JUST TRY IT! YOU'LL LIKE IT!! XD.
