The Last Gunfight

I just watched about half of the movie but I cannot anymore. Should have trusted my gut after seeing the trailer, its bad people. The game host is cute and acts quite well, the rest, well no. Unrealistic characters. Perfect hair, makeup after a fight, really? No or very little blood, bruises. It's going to be shockingly bad, don't say I didn't warn you....

Never having heard about this 2025 action movie titled "The Last Gunfight" as I stumbled upon it by sheer random luck. But of course I had to watch it, as I do believe in giving all movies a fair chance. I can't claim to be harboring the biggest of expectations to the movie, as the synopsis sounded like there wasn't a whole lot of fulfilling contents to the storyline. But still, I opted to watch the movie.

Writers Steven Paul and J. D. Zeik put together a pretty simplistic storyline. Sure, "The Last Gunfight" was watchable and entertaining enough for what it was, but this was by no means a Shakespearian moment in cinematic history. You just simply unhook your brain, get the snacks and lean back and watch the action on the screen.

The movie wasn't exactly crammed with an abundance of familiar faces, but there were a few, with the likes of Daniel Bernhardt, Jon Voight, Pancho Moler, Rade Serbedzija and Shaina West. The acting performances in the movie were fair.

"The Last Gunfight" actually had enough action sequences to make it all the more bearable to sit through the simplistic narrative.

Watchable for what was it, but hardly a movie that warrants more than just a single viewing.

My rating of director James Bamford's 2025 movie "The Last Gunfight" lands on a five out of ten stars.

I watched this because I thought Adam Woodward was the star and while he has a lead role in this poorly done film, he has about as much screen time as bad actresses playing minor roles.

The plot is pretty good, just not well executed, with a poor script and horrible acting from more than half the cast. Voight, Woodward, and a few others are Ok, but some of these actors just look uncomfortable. Sam Symons steals the film in a spectacular fight sequence that is the only good part of the movie. Had the movie concentrated on his character, or just a few characters it might have worked, instead we're forced to listen to really poor "actresses" who have no part in the plot uttering nonsense lines that add nothing to the story. There is so much filler here, including a love story, that doesn't work. All of this filler, bad dialogue, horrendous acting and too little action just drags this film down. It just seems like a movie made by people who have no idea of how to make a good movie.
