Bills pep rally plus Hallmark cameos

Hallmark seems intent on putting some of their more popular stars as cameos in various movies.

But more than that this was a Bills pep rally. I doubt the Bills' publicist could have put in more Bills hype. Not to mention numerous Bills players, former players and head coach.

The story doesn't matter. There is plenty of banter and the tone is very upbeat. There is a running gag of "you should tell her" coming from people Gabe hardly knows. Basically the movie is just fun.

Unlike a lot of this type of movie based on Sports themes, the story isn't about a build up to a championship and since the last game shown is Christmas, they don't really talk about where the Bills place.

Gabe and Morgan have known each other since childhood and are best friends. Their actors mesh together perfectly like they have been together that long.

There isn't a lot of tension in the story especially since the viewer knows how things will work out for the couple and the pregnant mom.

There are a lot of sappy moments. I thought the sap was closer to being cheesy, especially the climax.

A touchdown of a film in my eyes....

    6.9/10 (7) (Definitely Recommend)

When I saw "A Bills Love Story" pop up on Prime, I couldn't help but laugh at the situation. The first thing that came to mind was, "what famous person is dating a Bills player?". When I couldn't answer that question, I decided to just watch the movie.

Honestly, I thought they'd fumble this one. I enjoyed "A Chiefs Love Story", so I was skeptical on this one. Seriously though, not only did they get the touchdown, they also managed, barely, the two point conversion.

While I'm not a football fan, as a sports fan, I found the opening moments funny, and from there they continued down the field getting every down. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Holland Roden and Matthew Daddario. It starts off a little rigid as they discover their feelings for each other, but in the end it feels genuine. On top of that, the families felt genuine. While there's one main story that pulls you in, the rest of the cast does well to pull you into the family when it's their time to shine. My biggest green flag for this film was honestly Holland Roden. She brought the enthusiasm as a football fan, and you could feel the excitement she had talking about the Bills. It didn't feel cheesy like the "Chiefs" film.

I honestly think that this one was better than the Chiefs film because they weren't trying to imitate life. It felt like a genuine story of love. There were at least two, maybe three times in the film where I tested up simply because I could feel the emotional tones. So if you're looking for a new Hallmark film to watch this year, add this one to the list! Even if you're not a football fan. It's truly a "Holiday Touchdown".

That's it for now. Thanks for taking time to read my review. Happy watching and enjoy the show!

Good warmhearted fare for the holiday season

As a former Bills season ticket holder and lifelong Canadian fan, I just had to watch this film when I read my Bills e-mail advising me that it was on tonight.

I felt they did an excellent job with the casting of veteran actors Joe Pantoliano and Tracy Pollan, and the male and female leads, Holland Roden and Matthew Daddario had great chemistry.

For Bills fans it was of course great to see some of the current and former players in cameos.

What surprised me was the quality of the story line, nothing too complex of course but better than what I expected to be a cookie cutter Holiday film plot.

I would recommend this film for both Bills fans and anyone looking to watch a good lighthearted family Christmas movie.

4 Stars out of 5. (I would have given it 5 stars except Doug Flutie was not in it...lol)

Not a Hallmark movie watcher, but this one got me

I don't typically watch Hallmark movies, but this one was adorable and so funny! The small town vibes were immaculate and so endearing. Personally, Vinny and Uncle Tommy were some of my favorite characters; witty, hilarious, and you feel like you know these characters in real life. Such an awesome film and may have reeled me into Hallmark movies from here on out.

    Finally a different premise..sorts@

**BREAKING NEWS!** After *years* of intense research, scientists have finally discovered a **second plot** for Hallmark Christmas movies.

Early reports indicate it still involves a small town, a bakery, a flannel-wearing single dad, and a career woman from the city... but apparently this time **the snow falls in a slightly different order.**

Stay tuned for updates as researchers determine whether this new plot is actually any different or just wearing a different scarf. 🎄😂

But seriously...this movie was a bit different and actually watchable!!

Santa Claus: So, did you ever tell that doctor that you're in love with her?

      Gabe DeLuca: Okay. Uh, Santa?

      Santa Claus: Hmm?

Gabe DeLuca: Morgan and I are just friends.

      Santa Claus: Hmm.

Gabe DeLuca: I still love her, but it's more in that platonic, never-going-to-happen-though-I-wouldn't-be-opposed-if-it-did,-but-I-don't-want-to-ruin-the-connection-that-our-families-have? Kind of way?

      Santa Claus: Eh?
