Marry My Husband

Great ending , love all the character development , less unnecessary drama , straight to the point in story. The chemistry between female lead and male lead so good and natural, not to cliche to the point it become annoying. This drama keep me engaged till the end. I like this kind of drama story that is not too stretched. I rarely review any drama and I saved this drama to watch again.

I don't usually watch TV dramas, but Marry My Husband really surprised me in the best way. From the very first episode, I was hooked. The performances were outstanding; each actor brought depth and emotion to their role, making the story feel authentic and engaging.

What stood out most to me was how well the series captured Misa's emotional journey. You can genuinely feel her pain, strength, and transformation, which made her character incredibly relatable. And Reina? She's written and portrayed in such a way that you can't help but despise her more with each episode which, in a drama like this, means they did it right.

The pacing was solid too, tight and compelling, without dragging things out unnecessarily like some dramas tend to do. Every episode had a purpose and kept the story moving forward.

While a second season seems unlikely, I'd definitely be there for it if it ever happens. This show is a hidden gem, and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys emotional stories with strong characters and just the right amount of drama.

Which to watch? I read the JP version is deeper and more serious and of course it's much shorter. I didn't need much inducement. K-dramas are draggy by default.

So I did like it in the beginning, it was engaging, but indeed, like some have said, the second half is less good. And surprisingly for an allegedly compressed version, the last two episodes were very draggy and quite unhinged if I'm honest. If there's one thing i hate in Asian dramas is the unhinged, psychotic characters. I mean they show signs but they really spiral down the line and it's so unimaginative. There's also quite a lot of strangling, which makes no sense, where do they get all that strength?

Anyway, all that aside, the concept was interesting, the acting was ok-ish. I liked the lead actress but absolutely loathed her bangs. I loved it when she gets her makeover but then the bangs appear again. Whenever she had them parted she looked so fine. Mature, sexy, feminine, as opposed to childish. Any woman past thirty still wearing bangs needs a special face or something, and it's not the case here. Takeru Satoh's character was less engaging, he's the typical cold, restrained director, he has very limited emotional range here, I know it's by design but he's really wasted on this drama. It's not the polarizing pairing that we usually see but it's not much better. They say the K version had much more chemistry, maybe I'll check out some excerpts on YT. There's barely any comedy here or comedic relief, which they've been saying as well. But I'll take it to save 6 hours. I have plenty of K-dramas that I left somewhere cause they're boring me to death in later episodes.

Overall I'd say it's mid. For my standards this is not as good as advertised. Character-wise and plot-wise there's definitely room for improvement.

Personally i'm not really into J-drama but this one is good, watch until ep 8 (since 2 last episode will be aired next week).

This version is a bit more realistic for friendship between female lead antagonist and i got the chemistry more. Cinematography also nice and the warm tone color give more melancholic vibes.

However, if you haven't watch the korean version or maybe the webtoon/novel, you might find this drama a bit confusing since there are lots of scenes deleted from the original, so far. Some plot a bit rushed and need more build up for the climax.

I honestly didn't expect to love it this much, but I'm so glad I gave it a chance.

I highly recommend this drama to anyone looking for something emotionally powerful, with meaningful lessons and unforgettable characters. It's one of those rare series that stays in your heart long after the final episode.
