To Catch a Predator (2004)

Trivia

To Catch a Predator

Edit
In April 2015, Chris Hansen announced the start of a Kickstarter campaign to fund a reboot of the series. In October of that year, the project, dubbed Hansen vs. Predator, conducted a sting operation in conjunction with local police in Fairfield, Connecticut. At that time, Hansen reported that he was commencing negotiations with various potential broadcast networks in an effort to find a media platform on which to air the footage that was shot during the Fairfield operation.
Lorne Armstrong, one of the predators from the 2007 episode in Bowling Green, Kentucky, became famous on the internet for how he pronounced 'Oh God!' as "Oh Cawd!" when Chris Hansen revealed himself and the cameras came out and for how he groomed and chatted with the decoy, Kayla. The chat log transcript of his chat and audio from the phone calls of his conversations with the decoy, Kayla, have since been made into humorous videos and uploaded to several video streaming sites.
Chris Hansen would talk to a predator and then they would be arrested. In some cases, Hansen would inform the predator that he was on the show, without even conducting an interview. One man took his own life before the police came.
On November 5, 2006 56-year old Louis Conradt shot and killed himself during an investigation in Terrell, Texas when a SWAT team was serving an arrest warrant. It is believed to be a rare instance of an investigation resulting in the suspect taking his/her own life.
The first two investigations sometimes did not involve law enforcement and the perpetrators were allowed to leave voluntarily.
