A perfectly delightful spin on the holidays. A divorced mother of two attempts to create a magical old-fashioned Christmas, but of course, the kiddos like most kids of this x generation want the latest gadgets and are angry because their oft absentee father is once again MIA. Through a series of parallel events, a recently laid off mall worker leaves a lost dog on the woman's doorstep. From there, mayhem and fun ensue as the said man slips on the ice and breaks his arm and the woman and her children drive him to the ER. From there and onward, many other individuals emerge on the scene and connect... well because of one extremely mischievous puppy. Each of them discovering that unexpected chaos can lead to some awesome memories and lasting bonds.
Wonderful because it emphasizes families extend far beyond bloodlines. Well worth watching James Welch Henderson, Arkansas 12/20/2020
A couple of janitors working late on Christmas Eve have a puppy dumped on them. They try to leave in on Anne Heche's doorstep, but one of them breaks his leg fleeing... and that's just the first disaster in this remarkably funny comedy from the Hallmark Channel's annual Christmas season of original movies.
Jay Russell directs his cast in wonderfully straight-faced performances as they struggle to get through this particular calamity, only to break an arm or be robbed at gunpoint in a snowstorm. Miss Heche's just-keeping-it-together-for-the-kids demeanor is very funny, and the mildly incredulous way Brian Tee as the doctor who keeps seeing the same bunch of shlemazels return to his emergency room yet again is fine. There aren't many laugh-out-loud moments, but no one tries for them. You will smile a lot as people manage to get through big and small problems and still be happy.

I am not a person that laughs easily and lately I have been going through some medical problems that have me more like Scrooge than Scrooge himself. I did not have any expectations when I sat down to watch the movie but while watching the movie, I actually laughed so hard, my eyes watered. I forgot about my aches and pains. I liked the movie so much, I have it saved to watch again, something that I never do. Was it a silly movie, probably, but it was just what I needed to see. I thought that the whole cast was pretty funny and once the movie started it never missed a beat and there was hardly a break in my laughing. I do not know if It will be as funny the second time around, but I am going to give it a try. I say Kudos to the cast and crew! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but to those that did not like the movie, Bah! Humbug!
I have been searching to see when Hallmark will show the movie again, sadly not the Christmas of 2017. Compared to the political climate this year, we need a break and this movie was a break for me and my family. It is 2 weeks before Christmas and this movie along with the family stories of the unusual things that happen at Christmas helped my kids smile a little bit. Too bad the general population spoiled that for us. I am just a grandma trying to make my grandkids smile a little.
Its a little politically correct, but outside of that this is a hallmark Christmas comedy that will have great appeal to several groups of folks
--Most guys who are not afraid to be caught watching a hallmark movie, dog lovers, and people who are not hoping for a Christmas solve all problems romance movie
--Chemistry is good between actors, kids are not depicted as too spoiled, story line keeps U engaged, goodly amount of subtle guy humor, acting is pretty good, and LOTS of PUPPY !!
