The Job

1 review
8/10

Very thought-provoking!

What I like about this short film is not only the concept of AI making us aware of our own fragility, but it also has the potential to know everything about you, and that in itself is a scary thought. Todd (played by LeJon) gets to learn firsthand this lesson when he arrives at an interview for a job and is being interviewed by a bot named Athena (played by Dawna Lee Heising) who is mesmerising to watch. During his time with her she makes him see the errors of his ways. His past is pulled into the storyline, to add flesh and layering to the film. When he is instructed by Athena to use the Tarot cards, the tension is ramped up in an intriguing way. Todd is offered not only redemption from his past traumatic experience, but Athena also allows us to see the intersection of AI and consciousness and how they play together is fascinating to watch. I highly recommend this one to watch, as this is a great Sci-fi with a great twist at the end.
