I want those 3 hours back

This documentary is a complete disappointment. It attempts to build suspense around what is ultimately just another unresolved cold case-one that lacks any real development or meaningful closure. The only aspect that sets it apart from the countless other true crime stories is that the missing person happened to be a minor celebrity. That thin hook is stretched out over several episodes, when the entire story could have easily been condensed into a single, tighter hour. Several so-called "persons of interest" are introduced, but none are backed by substantial evidence or credible leads, making the entire thing feel like aimless speculation.

Even worse is the narration by Maria Awes, whose delivery is painfully flat and unnatural. It's as though she's reading straight from a teleprompter for the very first time, with no emotion, no rhythm, and no sense of storytelling. It becomes a major distraction and sucks any remaining tension out of the series. If the producers insist on dragging out weak material, they should at least invest in a narrator who can breathe some life into it.

In short, this documentary is a waste of time-poorly paced, poorly narrated, and ultimately unsatisfying. Save yourself the frustration and skip it.

Everything That's Wrong With Most True Crime

Her Last Broadcast highlights what is wrong with a lot of true crime shows in that it's an investigation that goes nowhere. This thing pretty much at the top of the show tells you that no culprit has been arrested...so you know this show isn't going to reveal or solve anything. The whole thing is really a nonevent. However, it spends three hours on conjecture and unfounded accusation. I'm surprised that a couple of the people identified as suspects haven't sued the production for defamation. The police seemed way too hand in glove with the TV crew. The cops were way too candid for a show that didn't have a suspect they hadn't charged. This is a show should've been shelved until someone had been put in prison. So unprofessional.

    Terrible

Everything said in this documentary could've been told in one hour instead of three. Endless repetition, with no resolve. I felt I had been conned by the Filmmakers. The edits of the people interviewed promising something but never delivering. I never write reviews, but felt compelled to say shame on the filmmakers. Jodi the subject was a wonderful absolutely sweet person. Her disappearance and the fact that police have not found out who apprehended her tragic. However the endless repetition of the same things said over and over and felt like a student trying to pad his book report because he had to get to 750 words and could only think of 250.

    So badly made; awful.

This is an interesting case, no doubt and that's what drags you in. Be warned that the case is unsolved. This doesn't even feel like a documentary of people trying to solve a crime to help the victim or her family, it comes across as a small group of wannabe true crime celebrities trying to get famous by sucking the blood of the victim. Seriously.

The worst written and directed true crime documentary I have ever watched. Several interviews and idea lead are repeated throughout the episodes just to make it longer. Several early leads and suspects that have been fully proven wrong in the first episode, are reiterated again and again. But this isn't to remind you, it is done with the intention of trying to make the documentary longer or feel tense. It is very annoying. They spend at least 15 minutes in each episode discussing completely fake aspects of the case that they claim were rumors or misinformation at some point, for no reason like "and then they found a palm print, but not where you would think... because it wasn't useful and had nothing to do with the case".

This has THEE WORST narrator. A woman who robotically reads every word she says with the intonation of a really bad porn actress who thinks they have talent. You will notice it immediately, especially when she pretends to be casually speaking to the camera. This honestly seems like the quality you'd find in a comedy satire of a true crime show, like a third rate troop's sketch comedy skit.

It keeps getting worse until the end when they say it's unsolved and there are no viable leads.

    Nothing New

I've watched or have heard about this case for years so I knew going in that the missing newscaster was/is still missing. I even remember when it actually happened and was on the news. So it was really disappointing that there really wasn't anything new found. I don't think it was exactly terrible as some have intimated, but it was boring to the point I fell asleep for most of episode 2 and had to rewatch. It could have been done in an hour rather than 3.
