Edit
The QR code on a tablet at the start of the film takes you to the French Wikipedia page for Ozzy Osbourne.
"Daisy Bell", the song that Dane Cook's character (Cole Dvorak) sings while walking in search of Tranquility, is the same song that HAL 9000 sings in 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) while Dave Bowman is disabling him.
The "space suits" are really REV'IT! motorcycle touring suits. They are augmented with a prop locking collar made from large gauge hose clips with a number of chrome fold-back clips (minus their handles) clipped around them.
Tom Cavanagh, Caity Lotz, and Brandon Routh have large roles in the CW's Arrow (2012)/ The Flash (2014) Universe.
Whether intentional or not, there are allusions to several Twilight Zone episodes including Where Is Everybody? (1959) and And When the Sky Was Opened (1959). There are also multiple allusions to 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) including some musical references to Also Sprach Zarathustra and Daisy Bell.
