Radiohead: Identikit

This promotional vignette designed to promote Radiohead's "A Moon Shaped Pool" album was directed by Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos ("Dogtooth", "The Favourite") and starring French actor Denis Lavant ("Mauvais Sang", "Holy Motors"). The combo of talents and Radiohead elevates curiosity to the maximum, what could be the result of those guys together. Yet I don't know what to say. It was too quick to form a reaction, to get some perception or anything, really. Other vignettes were made, by different people, this one was probably the one most seen due to the names of Lanthimos and Lavant involved.

Can't remember the sounds exactly, but the visuals were quite memorable as Lavant furiously eats a sandwich inside at a cafe, that has an amazing production design. You never know what to expect with Lavant, a very striking presence in Leos Carax films, with a great use of expressions and body language yet it's glad that Hollywood never called him for anything - they wouldn't know how to use him in a movie.

A quite unusual work, but the man delivers something, or at least I was expecting something weird to happen after all the quietude of the place as the camera slowly pulls closer to the leading man. Well, a sandwich was consumed in a unique manner. 6/10.
