This is the first Kamen Rider season to have an automobile motif, and the second series to have an element of detective story since Kamen Rider W.
Actor Taiko Katono auditioned for the role of Akira Nijino in Ressha Sentai ToQger, but eventually lost the role to Shin Nagahama. Even before this particular audition, he had tried out for several Sentai and Kamen Rider productions before he was finally cast as Chase. Producer Takahito Omori stated that he cast Katono due to his ability to retain sex appeal while showing almost no emotion.
