Matchroom: The Greatest Showmen

The title of this review says it all.

It's just scripted entertainment, forced conversations all leading up to this fake ending of a Saudi Takeover, but my word it hits the right spots. The Banter between father (Barry Hearn) and Son (Eddie Hearn) is top notch, great to see Fishing get a bit of airtime too.

On paper, this series could have hit all the right notes. Sadly, in reality, the delivery, a bit like AJ's right hand versus Daniel Dubois was a bit of a damp squid.

Personally I think it would have been better if it had been set entirely around the wise old patriarch Barry Hearn, but unfortunately the rest of the clan make this series pure cringe and really just a bit boring most of the time.

Really disappointed in this series as a huge fan of all things Matchroom. I grew up watching the snooker back in the 80s and have enjoyed watching Eddie rise through the ranks of boxing with his online interviews being very entertaining.

This series is a little bit bland and often times far too forced and seemingly contrived. Some of the fringe characters at the Matchroom business don't really come across as particularly likeable people and often rather dull, without naming names.

Ignore the fake reality parts and just watch for the real parts!!

Brilliant documentary if you're a boxing fan, snooker fan, darts fan, sports fan, matchroom fan, an Eddie fan or even just work in sales. This is a great watch!!!!

I'm a big Eddie Hills... Sorry I mean Hearn fan, so I was always going to watch this. I didn't like the fake parts, where they have conversations that they were obviously told to have...

But the real moments are worth watching it for!

What an unbelievably good show if there wouldn't be the ELEPHANT OF AN EGO of eddie. I was feeling absolutely cringe on how he thinks he built the success of this company, how he had to be in the spotlight of every boxer, especially the Dallas fight when Katie won and he acted like he was boxing and also insanely cringe on how much he sucks the blood out of Turki and the Saudi money, how he was sitting on that one fight looking over to him the whole time to just say hi. It was really secondhand embarrassment and I feel sorry for his father leaving such a huge legacy to a son who clearly just wants the spotlight and would be nothing near to such a world or scenario if he wouldn't have been born into it. Stay humble son. Talk less and do more and leave the spotlight to the real stars that are actually making you money!!! Really sad - Show otherwise 10/10!!
