Red Rain

The movie was good, just not as amazing as I expected. It got overhyped, so my expectations were too high. The performances and visuals were impressive, but the story wasn't very tight and the scene changes felt a bit choppy. And when it comes to the characters, it felt like they only stayed on the surface, nothing really deep

Still it's an emotional film overall. 8/10 from me.

I find Rain of Red to have a strong screenplay, adapted from a famous novel, staying faithful to history while portraying both a humanistic perspective and a heroic spirit. The sets are carefully prepared, and the actors deliver heartfelt, emotional performances. The ensemble cast is highly commendable, though one cameo feels somewhat out of tune and slightly disrupts the film's emotional flow. At times, the film also feels slightly stage-like, with certain repeated scenes of the Republic of Vietnam meetings becoming somewhat tedious. Still, it is a powerful and moving film overall - definitely worth watching. The good news is that the movie comes with English subtitles, making it accessible to international viewers.

I think it doesn't deliver as well as it promised but I don't think it's bad either. Maybe I would sit down and watch it with friends or to pass the time but probably never to enjoy it again. I feel like the movie is more glorification than education and that's a bad thing for a movie like this because people don't look at those 2 the same, they can't tell the difference between glorification and education so they just lean onto patriotism.

Mua Do is one of the most powerful war films I've seen in a long time. It doesn't try to romanticize anything, instead it shows the raw pain, fear, and sacrifice of people caught in the middle of history. The atmosphere is heavy, every frame feels like it carries the weight of countless untold stories. The performances are deeply human and the imagery lingers in your mind long after the credits roll. When it ended, I just sat in silence, feeling both heartbroken and proud. This film is not just something you watch, it's something you carry with you.
