An absolute shambles.
I'll start with the positives: it's visually wonderful, I think the production team deserves huge credit, plus I think the acting is spot on; Charlie Hunnam is so good.
I've enjoyed the show up until this point, but this mid-point episode was a massive let down, it seemed to just wander off on several different tangents.
I'm going to have to slate the writing here; it's just a mess, it feels so loose and messy; this one's all over the place and full of inconsistencies; Adeline felt like a totally different character. They're trying to tell multiple stories; it's effectively filler.
Was Eddie obsessed with Christine Jorgensen or Ilse Koch? I don't ever recall that being part of his makeup; was he really inspired? I get the impression they went there for other reasons.
I mentioned previously that I thought this should have been called An Eddie Gein Story; this one had some good moments, at times it was downright disturbing, but it felt almost cartoonish at times.
A mess.
4/10.
This will separate the fanbase.
All over the place
The voice of Ed is kinda annoying also. Great acting and Laurie though. I guess I just preferred the previous 2 seasons.
Ohhhhh they went there
Charlie Hunnam deserves the utmost praise for throwing absolutely everything into this role; he completely disappears into it.
Even though the story is heinous, it's done so well, and the direction is fantastic with the beautiful and often ugly music really adding that icing on the cake
9/10.
180° on Adeline
Zero consistency. I get it's fiction and they were taking lots of liberties, but I was in until this episode lost me.
Also, Gein isn't Hannibal Lector, he's Buffalo Bill. Starting to get annoyed.

Randy: You're better than everybody, is that it?
Adeline Watkins: As a matter of fact, I am.
Randy: Rumor has it, I'm not the only one enjoying your trick pussy, Adeline. People see you and that Eddie Gein run about together. You aren't two-timing me, are you?
Adeline Watkins: No, I am not. Not that it's any of your business! It's modern and city-like to have friends. Not that you'd know anything about that. The sun's setting. Haven't you got to go milk the cows?
Randy: You kicking me out?
Adeline Watkins: Yes. I'm gonna sit here and read my book. I'll be gone soon, Randy, so you'd better find somebody else to stick it in. But you're a farm-hand, I'm sure there's a pig you can get your hands on.
Randy: Or I can just tell everyone what we've been doing, Adeline. How would you like that?
