Haha, You Clowns

If you are the average watcher of Adult Swim shows, the effect that Ha Ha, You Clowns has on you may be the equivalent of putting puppies in front of a group of snotty, disaffected teen boys to watch them struggle with their emotions before folding into a chorus "come here, lil' buddies." You keep waiting for the show to make fun of the characters, but the snark, sarcasm, and meanness never comes. You have confused feelings - the guilt of being an emotionally distant, awful person who revels in meanness. Then, you stretch out your arms to Ha Ha, You Clowns and say "come here, lil' buddy."

I watched the first episode of this show not expecting much. By the interesting to say the least art style and funny sounding boys I didn't think I was going to like it at all, but it has some genuinely good visual gags and family moments that tugged at my heartstrings. It's a feel good show that has that YouTube animator quirk I'm happy to see in these newer adult swim shows.

I wasn't planning to keep watching, but it got me. I'm looking forward to the next episodes! It's weird in a smart way, not random for the sake of it. Unique style, warm and funny moments, and honestly refreshing to see something that doesn't try to copy anything else. If you're bored of the same shows, try this.

I discovered this series on IG many years ago and was thrilled to see it show up as a top 10 show on HBO.

The attention to detail is so good and the bros are perfectly medium rare meatheads.

I hope we get to see more than four episodes from Joe. This type of absurd character humor speaks to my soul.

Goofy comedy but also very wholesome that I find to be very impressive considering not many shows can pull this off. It is also very relatable at times which I feel many adult comedy series lack at the moment. But over all it makes you feel for the characters and actually invest in the story rather than sacrificing the story for laugh.s.
