Techland was originally developing Dead Island 2, but instead they decided to focus on developing Dying Light with Warner Bros.
Yager revealed that Dead Island 2 would have no story ending but instead have unlimited tasks and missions to accomplish to give it a never ending feel.
You can find pianos in some houses. If you look closely, you can see Hisaishi and Ennio written above the piano keys. A reference to soundtrack composers Joe Hisaishi (composed many films of Takeshi Kitano) and Ennio Morricone.
As of December 2019, the game is still in development.
In July 2015, it was revealed that Yager was no longer apart of the development of the game.
