Writer/director, Kevin Lasit, used students from his on camera acting classes in this film. There are over 100 actors in back2one and Kevin did not hold auditions. He cast students directly from his acting classes based on the work done in class.
The term "back to one" refers to after filming a scene the Production Assistant will call out "Back to One" meaning to re-set to starting positions. Kevin chose back2one for the title as a metaphor for all the poor choices the character Billy Blake has made leading him back to one.
