Hallmark's version of Scrooged
This version totally gave me Scrooged vibes - and that's one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies.
Ella Neezer (yes, really) is stingy, power-hungry, and climbing the corporate ladder in stilettos sharp enough to draw blood. She's cruel to her employees, and of course, something tragic happens around Christmas because-Hallmark.
Cue the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, who decide to pay her a little in-flight visit while she's on a red-eye to Australia with her assistant, Bobbi. (And yep, Bobbi's son is named Tim, so we've got our Tiny Tim checkmark). Add Jake, the ex-fiancé she just happens to reunite with midair, and you can already see where this sleigh is headed.
I adored this version. The chemistry was spot-on. The performances were fantastic.
Look, some folks act like Hallmark movies need to be cinematic masterpieces. They don't. They're meant to be cozy, silly, and full of holiday sparkle. With the world being the mess that it is, I'll happily take a cheesy rom-com that ends with a kiss under fake snow.
Loved it. Total rewatch.

We're in, on the "wink-wink".
It's Hallmark. With one big "wink" to join them on this flight through fantasy, as only Hallmark can. The stars come out at night and they are plentiful here. Ms. Krakow is as delightful as a Sugar Plum Fairy. It's like we are all insiders on a Christmas Miracle. Those who know, will love it. Those who don't, never will. Hey Scrooge, it's Christmas. And Christmas on Hallmark.............is always a gift. Nice job, all! <3.
Watchable modern take on a classic Christmas story
While this movie didn't quite hit it out of the park, I gave it a solid 7 and that's actually quite good on my scale of rating Hallmark Christmas movies because usually they're either 7s or higher or 1s because they're so blatantly bad and/or are just "Mad Libs" versions of previous Hallmark Christmas movies, e.g. Same story just change the town and the characters names. An one could argue that the Dicken's A Christmas Carol story has been remade/reimagined one too many times, but because it's a favorite of mine since childhood I'll give it a pass and the fact that this movie's spin on the story was indeed creative. There are a few rough spots where maybe the story could have been fleshed out better, but the acting was pretty good by all involved. Erin Krakow did a good job with this one because she typically plays characters that are the exact opposite of the one she plays here. Also, Tyler Hynes and Erin Krakow do have a believable chemistry on screen, like in the 2021 movie It Was Always You where their relationship was very believable (didn't feel forced or implausible like so many match ups in these Hallmark movies are). Overall a fun entertaining watch.
Well..
Was ok but not original & clichéd,typical Hallmark movie.
Just wouldn't be the holidays, without another version of this topic/theme.
Actors to acting was fine, cinematography decent & music didn't overwhelm dialog.
Worth seeing once. Not something will rewatch, again.
Hallmark for years has been in a rut, where quality over quantity is more appreciated.
Anyway.. Happy holidays! Enjoy this upcoming season.

crikey is this what Americans think Australian sound like!
I liked this spin on A Christmas Carol.
Casting was pretty good. Erin runs a bit hot and cold with me but she suited this role. And Tyler always brings the fun, did think he's a bit underused here but maybe that's cos I just wanted to see him more. The romance was believable which is not something I usually relate to Hallmark movies. The rest of cast were perfectly fine. It's attempt at comedy didn't always hit but I did laugh occasionally.
The Australian accent was pretty cringe but worse was the use of the Aussie colloquialisms. I've lived in Australia they don't talk like that.
A watchable light movie to get one into the Christmas spirit even though it's only mid November.
