April 2016 - At the Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival, "The Orange Man" won the Pro Feature Silver and the Audience Choice awards.
The photograph of Wilbur in Gerald's house, is a behind the scenes picture of actor Thomas Ely Sage taken during the filming of the short film "From Uranus" (which was also directed by Stephen Folker).
Parts of Wilbur's last scene were filmed at Maquoketa Caves State Park and at Wildcat Den State Park, which are both in Iowa.
Gerald, Jimmy and Wilbur were supposed to be relaxing in the warm water while on vacation, but the water was really cold. The actors had problems trying not to let their teeth chatter.
April 2016 - At the Bare Bones Film Festival in Oklahoma, "The Orange Man" won the best Visual FX award. Director/Writer/Producer Stephen Folker was nominated for Indie Auteur of the year award. "The Orange Man" was also nominated for Best in Genre category.
