This is 13th Floor EFX and Single Cell Production's first major film production together.
The story of the Mare is based on an old German folklore tale about the Nachtmahr, and the prayer used in the beginning of the film was actually used in old days to ward her away.
The filming took a total of three days.
The director John Dondero and lead actor Santiago Cirilo met at a Sci-Fi convention, and Santiago was casted a week later.
The writer, Garrett Mooneyhan, and the actress who plays the Mare are married in real life.
