"Assassination Classroom" is an anime that stands out as a masterpiece in my heart, embodying the perfect blend of humor, warmth, and profound storytelling. From the outset, the premise of a yellow, tentacled creature threatening to destroy the Earth unless he is killed by his students might sound bizarre, but it's this very eccentricity that crafts the anime's unique charm.
Koro-sensei, the unkillable teacher with a heart of gold, is the centerpiece of this narrative, offering both laughter and life lessons in abundance. His relationship with Class 3-E, a group of underdogs, is not just about assassination attempts; it's a journey of growth, self-discovery, and overcoming personal challenges. The show masterfully balances its comedic elements with emotional depth, making you laugh one moment and tearing you up the next.
What truly sets "Assassination Classroom" apart is its ability to weave significant life lessons into its narrative seamlessly. It touches on the importance of compassion, the value of hard work, and the power of believing in oneself. Each character, no matter how initially trivial, is given a moment to shine, showcasing their development and the impact Koro-sensei has on their lives.
Moreover, the anime's animation and soundtrack beautifully complement the story's tone, enhancing the emotional and comedic beats. The opening and ending themes are catchy and resonate with the anime's overarching themes of hope and determination.
In conclusion, "Assassination Classroom" is not just an anime; it's an emotional rollercoaster that teaches us about the importance of connection, the teacher-student bond, and the journey to becoming better individuals. It's a heartwarming, hilarious, and ultimately unforgettable experience that I firmly believe to be one of the best anime of all time. Whether you're an anime aficionado or a newcomer to the medium, this is one class you won't want to skip.

And like that it's over the two seasons of Assassination Classroom are behind me and though I believe the quality dipped I can confidently say I miss it already.
Now I'm "That guy" who wants to like anime but generally struggles. I like darker stuff and avoid the cutesy stuff which seems to make up most of the anime available. For that reason I've genuinely struggled to find both series & movies to watch.
On this occasion against my better judgement I watched the two Assassination Classroom live action movies first and was really quite blown away with how good they were. I figured the anime would be a let down by comparison and I'm still on the fence as to which is truly better.
Assassination Classroom is a beautiful intricate storyline with real depth and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sadly a large chunk of season 2 feels like filler and that really damaged it but it returned to form in it's final few episodes all leading the incredible finale.
Without a doubt this is heavily underrated as many people I've spoken to have never heard of it. It's well woven, thought provoking and powerful as well as genuinely funny in places.
One odd thing is it's tone, it's so inconsistent. It is fairly cutesy, in places is ridiculously so and yet it can switch on a dime and get really quite dark.
I am so very glad that I experienced the series as it was certainly a memorable one and one that will stay with me.
The Good:
Amazing storyline
Powerful messages
Very well written
Devastatingly good finale
Great characters
The Bad:
Cheesy soundtrack
Some over the top anime tropes
A lot of filler in season 2
Things I Learnt From This Series:
The Japanese are capable of producing something involving tentacles and school girls without blending them in a dirty way
I'm going to miss Koro-sensei and the e-class *Sadface*

It's two seasons of fun, laughing, learning, caring for the characters and getting tangled up in trying to figure out how this will all end. The jokes were really well written, making me crackle sometimes with enough life lessons thrown in which made it also a heartwarming show. You really do learn to care about Koro-Sensei and his students who are trying to kill him but are gaining life lessons I wish all kids could get from a good teacher.
There are twisted along the way which keep you wanting to get the next episode going.
