Actress Heather Dorff was originally selected to play Mel and accepted the role. However upon reviewing the final script she was uncomfortable with the amount of nudity and sex scenes in the film and the role had to be recast.
Actress Rebecca Moore was originally scheduled for only one day of filming but a snow storm and equipment issues required her to work 2 regular days and a pick up day.
Director Jessica Cameron said casting proved to be very difficult because the lead roles required actresses who would be required to travel across country in an RV for almost a month and be willing to perform nude and film lesbian sex scenes. She said talented actresses wanted the role but would not do the nudity. Others said they were fine with the nudity but didn't want to do the sex scenes.
Many locations had to change last min when an unexpected blizzard interrupted filming. There was no snow in the script so there could be no snow in the film.
The team traveled in an RV, thinking it would be convenient with the bathroom always avail. However they were unaware that many states in the fall close their dump stations so the team was unable to use their RV restroom for 9 of the 21 days while traveling.
