Superman: The Animated Series remains one of the quintessential versions of the Man of Steel for an entire generation. However, as is the case with most animated series, some, if not all of the work is often outsourced to other countries to meet budget constraints and tight deadlines, as was the case with the first entry into the Dcau.

John McEntee flashes a thin-lipped smile at the camera, waving around a stack of bills he pulled from the center console of his car. “I always keep this fake Hollywood money in my car, so when a homeless person asks for money then I give them a fake $5 bill,” he tells TikTok. “So I feel good about myself, they feel good — and then when they go to use it they get arrested. So I’m actually helping clean up the community, you know, getting them off the streets.”

Friday Night Dinner knows the truth about families. Not that they bicker, mock and childishly compete – sitcom’s known about that since Steptoe & Son. No, Friday Night Dinner knows that families aren’t made up of people; they’re made up of odd habits.
Did you ever invite a friend home from school and pray that none of your family’s Weird Stuff would leak out into the playground the next day? That your mum’s special word for a fart wouldn’t follow you down the corridor into Maths, and the dinner hall wouldn’t echo with the high-pitched voice in which you all talk to the dog? Perhaps you hoped against hope that your brother wouldn’t be wearing his comedy Viz Buster Gonad t-shirt, that no-one would see the wooden clothes peg holding open the choke on your dad’s car, and that nobody would call...

"You mean actually make a record? A record record, record?"
The Wonders, formerly known as The Oneders, are about to make a splash on vinyl yet again. The soundtrack for the Tom Hanks-directed comedy "That Thing You Do!" is getting the vinyl soundtrack treatment, celebrating the story of the fictional one-hit wonders who skyrocketed on the Billboard charts and disappeared just as quickly. Tom Everett Scott, Johnathon Schaech, Steve Zahn, and Ethan Embry played the band in question (and they reunited at the height of the pandemic), while Tom Hanks portrayed the record executive who brought them to stardom.
In collaboration with Play-Tone, Sony Music, and 20th Century Studios, Mondo is releasing a special edition of the soundtrack featuring the earworm of a title song, as well as some of The Wonders' lesser celebrated tracks, including their big screen appearance singing "Shrimp Shack" as Cap'n Geech & The Shrimp Shack Shooters.

Update, July 4: Another victim of Disney’s cost-cutting on the streaming front has emerged: “Crater,” a sci-fi adventure film about a group of children that hijack a rover before a member of the group relocates to a new planet. The film, starring Mckenna Grace and Isaiah Russell-Bailey with a featured role played by Kid Cudi, drew mostly positive reviews around its debut on the streaming service on May 12. Roughly seven weeks later, “Crater” has been pulled from Disney+.
The original report follows.
Disney’s content culling from Disney+ and Hulu is coming as early as next week — with the media company pulling off more than 50 titles, including series “Willow,” “The Mysterious Benedict Society” and “Dollface,” and movies such as “The One and Only Ivan.”

Now officially known as the “Scandoval,” the secret affair between Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss has rocked the worlds of the cast members of Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules. The news was especially devastating for Ariana Madix, Sandoval’s longtime partner (now his ex).
While the season’s reunion episode hasn’t aired yet, it was filmed in March, and apparently, things got very spicy. Recently, Sandoval opened up about the affair on Howie Mandel’s podcast Howie Mandel Does Stuff — and he definitely did not hold back. So is the controversial couple still together?

"Pulp Fiction" hit theaters on October 14, 1994 as a bona-fide, paradigm-shifting indie blockbuster. It was the film geek's "Easy Rider," a movie no one knew they needed until it got plunged deep into their veins. It's hard to believe Quentin Tarantino didn't know what he had prior to premiering the film at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival, but, per a 2014 interview with his buddy Robert Rodriguez, his first screening for friends and esteemed colleagues wasn't entirely reassuring.
Let's take a step back and survey the cinematic landscape in 1994. Tarantino was the equivalent of Nirvana pre-"Nevermind." He was a hit with film geeks who'd mainlined "Reservoir Dogs" and connected with Tony Scott's high-style take on "True Romance," but there was something potentially gimmicky about his writing. His screenplays were laden with deep-tissue pop-culture references and wildly violent set pieces. Oliver Stone's take on "Natural Born Killers," released two months prior...

The gag about Bullseye is always the speedboat. How many contestants in the ITV darts-based game show that originally ran from 1981 – 1995, had room in their life or garage for occasional Star Prize, the speedboat? (Bullseye presenter Jim Bowen’s 2012 joke to The Mirror that “the only contestants who ever won them lived in top floor flats in Coventry” was taken literally by The Coventry Telegraph who in 2021 launched a local winners search that is presumably ongoing.)
The Bullseye speedboat was its prize anomaly, a symbol of glamour and excitement in a sea of hostess trolleys, sheepskin coats and stainless steel cutlery. After the winning team of two had built their cash fund by answering trivia questions from dart-selected categories, they faced Bully’s Prize Board. There, they threw nine darts in an attempt to win eight prizes plus the bullseye special. Having done that, they had the option to gamble...

From “Friday Night Lights” and “Parenthood” showrunner Jason Katims comes another dynamic story adapted from Ann Napolitano’s best-selling novel. “Dear Edward” follows Edward Adler (Colin O’Brien), the lone survivor of a tragic plane crash, as he adjusts to living with his aunt Lacy (Taylor Schilling) and uncle John (Carter Hudson) after losing his parents and brother in the accident.
The show also splits between narratives of other friends and family members connected to the crash through lost loved ones. Dee Dee (Connie Britton) lost her husband Charles, who had a secret life in Los Angeles that she did not know about. Linda (Amy Forsyth) lost her husband Gary, and she is pregnant with his child. Adrianna (Anna Uzele) lost her grandmother, a prominent New York congresswoman and her boss. Kojo (Idris Debrand) comes to New York from Ghana to care for his niece Becks (Khloe Bruno) because his sister...

On Friday’s “Real Time,” Bill Maher had plenty of jokes about Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, who died Thursday at 96. And in addition to those (pretty funny) jokes, he also wondered if her death means the end of the deferential reverence British citizens have for her.
“You all know the big story. Sad day for inbreeding,” Maher joked as he pretended to bow his head in a show of respect. “Queen Elizabeth died at 96, they say the cause of death was Meghan Markle’s podcast.”
“I like the queen, I do. Her personal estate they say was almost half a billion dollars, used to be worth a billion. That’s what you get for listening to Matt Damon,” Maher continued, referring to Damon’s hilariously ill-timed Super Bowl ads for cryptocurrency brokers.
“The White House is saying for a long time they didn’t know if Biden...

"Dune" was, perhaps, the grandest sci-fi spectacle last year, which allowed both hardcore Frank Herbert fans and casual viewers a glimpse into the complex ecosystem of Arrakis. "Dune: Part Two" has been green-lit after the massive success of the first-parter, which earned multiple Oscar and BAFTA nominations (but the baffling absence of Denis Villeneuve in the Academy's Best Director category still has not sunk in for me).
According to an exclusive report by Empire, "Dune: Part Two" is set to shoot this summer, with a proposed release date of October 2023. The vast scale of Herbert's saga is yearning to be...

Woodstock ’99 was supposed to be sex, drugs, and rock & roll. Instead, what we got was three days of mob violence, sewage spills, and Jamiroquai. If you weren’t there, congratulate yourself on at least one shrewd life decision. (If only the decision not to be born yet.) If you went, prepare for some nasty flashbacks in the new HBO doc on the infamous festival, Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage. (It premieres on July 23rd.) The final season of HBO’s blockbuster series “Game of Thrones” garnered headlines for costing $90 million (aka $15 million per episode), but that price tag is chump change compared to the millions Amazon is reportedly spending on its upcoming “Lord of the Rings” television series. Early reports in 2018 pegged at least two seasons of “Rings” costing Amazon in the $500-million range, but now The Hollywood Reporter confirms just the first season is set to cost around $450 million.
The $450 million price tag was first reported by New Zealand publication Stuff, which confirmed the series qualifies for a government subsidy of Nz$160 million because the budget is estimated at Nz$650 million (which translates to 450 million in U.S. dollars). A source close to Amazon confirmed the Stuff report as accurate.

It’s difficult enough for anyone to sort through the artifacts of their deceased parent or grandparent’s home and figure out what to save, what to donate, and what to throw out. These objects often tell the entirety of one’s life—even if, as we discover, they are really just objects to their original owner, junk accumulated over one’s life. The first half Love & Stuff is a personal look at the process of mourning; the latter half, unfortunately, proves to be a little less interesting, despite its symmetry.
