The CNN Originals hub debuted on Discovery+ on Friday, as the new home for the news channel’s streaming library following the abrupt closure of CNN+.

The hub was announced earlier this month, and features over 800 episodes of content from CNN Original Series, CNN Films, and Hln Original Series. Additional content will be added after their linear run on the CNN cable networks.

Some of the original content that appeared on CNN+ has popped up elsewhere. The documentary The Last Movie Stars, about Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, debuted this summer on HBO Max. Chris Wallace’s talk show, one of the marquee offerings, will return in September on CNN on Sunday nights and on HBO Max.

Among the original library titles offered on the new hub are 1968: The Year That Changed America, American Dynasties: The Kennedys, American Style, Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown (Seasons 1-12), The Bush Years: Family, Duty, Power,...

Starting today, Discovery+ subscribers will have access to many of CNN’s most popular evergreen television series, including popular food shows “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” and “Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy” and documentaries like “The History of Comedy” and “Diana.” The series can be found under a new CNN Originals hub on Discovery+, the latest addition to the popular documentary-heavy streaming service.

Since WarnerMedia and Discovery merged to become Warner Bros. Discovery earlier this year, CEO David Zaslav has made the consolidation of the conglomerate’s streaming services a top priority. One of his first moves was to scrap CNN+, a streaming service that the company had invested over 100 million into, just a month after it launched. CNN+ primarily focused on content made by CNN personalities that was not strictly news-related. CNN, which briefly enjoyed its own bespoke streaming home, is moving into a bigger broadband neighborhood.

Warner Bros. Discovery, which shut down the nascent CNN+ streaming hub in April just weeks after it debuted, will launch a CNN Originals section on the subscription-video hub Discovery+, creating a new venue for CNN series and documentary films, as well as original programs from sister cable network Hln, which focuses largely on true-crime content. The CNN programming will be made available starting August 19.

“True crime, food and travel programming are among the most-watched genres for Discovery+ viewers, so these titles from CNN will fit right in with our best-in-class collection of unscripted content,” said Jb Perrette, president and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming operations, in a statement. “We’re excited to offer our subscribers access to a comprehensive offering of CNN Original Series available to stream with their existing subscription.”

Chip and Joanna Gaines are expanding their reach. Select content from their Magnolia Network will soon be available on HBO Max, the first example of Discovery content heading to HBO Max since the Warner Bros. Discovery merger.

Beginning Sept. 30, the Magnolia Network library available on the streamer will include “Fixer Upper: Welcome Home,” “Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines,” “The Lost Kitchen,” “Growing Floret,” “Family Dinner with Andrew Zimmern,” “Restoration Road with Clint Harp,” “Maine Cabin Masters” and all five seasons of “Fixer Upper.”

“It’s always been our desire to highlight inspiring, authentic storytelling on Magnolia Network. We’re excited to be able to share these stories now with an even wider audience,” the couple said in a joint statement Thursday.

Initial wave of content to include six series and two films.

CNN and Hulu have struck a content deal for six series and two films produced by the network, the two companies announced on Monday.

This is the first such deal between CNN and Hulu for CNN Films, the network’s brand for nonfiction documentaries, and the second deal with CNN Original Series, the network’s brand for nonfiction series content.

CNN Original Series previously sold streaming rights to Hulu for Race For The White House from executive producers Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti.

This expanded deal for series content includes The History Of Comedy (Season 1), United Shades Of America With W. Kamau Bell (Seasons 1-2), This Is Life With Lisa Ling (Seasons 1-3), Declassified: Untold Stories Of American Spies (Season 1), The Hunt With John Walsh (Seasons 1-3), and Crimes Of The Century (Season 1).

Gotham actor Donal Logue has ended his search for his missing teenager after nearly two weeks of pleading for the child’s safe return.

Logue, who has been searching for the 16-year-old (né Arlo) since June 26, revealed that Jade was safe in a tweet on Saturday.

“Thank you All for the love and support,” Logue, 51, wrote. “We are good. Kasey and I wish to thank the NYPD. FBI, @MissingKids and countless others.”

A rep for Logue did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

More than a week has passed since 16-year-old Jade Logue went missing in New York, and the Gotham star is continuing to ask the public for any information on her whereabouts.
