    Worse than The Worst

The Plot. All Hell Breaks Loose is the story of love, leather, and violence. When the Satan's Sinners, a vicious motorcycle gang from hell, kidnaps one man's bride, they bite off more than they can chew.

Now the man is out to save his wife, any way he can... even if it means dying over and over again. With the help of a sh1t-kicking sheriff, a perverted priest, and a cowboy who just might be God, all hell is bound to break loose.

Three great reviews but a 5.2 overall? Where's the disconnect? The disconnect is that the good reviews are people who worked on the film.

This is a cheap train wreck and not one you want to linger around.

Acting, story line, direction, music, etc. are all horrible. Save yourself the displeasure and walk right on by.

I love this type of 'Rodriguez and Tarantinoesque' grindhouse action flick!

'ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE': Four and a Half Stars (Out of Five)

Ultra low-budget indie 'grindhouse' flick; about a biker gang from Hell, collecting virgins to sacrifice to Satan, and a slain wimpy nerd, revived by God himself (over and over again), on a mission to stop them. The film was directed by first time feature filmmaker Jeremy Garner and written by first time feature film writer 'The Vocabularist'. It's the first feature produced by Frenetic Films (an Oregon based film company) and it was shot on a budget of just $20,000, in three weeks, in (and around) Eugene, OR. The movie stars a cast of mostly unknown Oregon actors; including Nick Forrest, Todd A. Robinson, Ehren McGhehey (aka Danger Ehren, of 'JACKASS' fame), Joshua Lee Frazier, Sarah Kobel Marquette, Joseph Sullivan and Hunter O'Guinn. If you're a fan of sleazy and gratuitously violent B-movies, you'll probably really enjoy this film (like I did).

The story revolves around a motorcycle gang, literally from Hell, called Satan's Sinners. They're viciously hunting down virgins, to sacrifice to Satan, and brutally killing anyone in their way. They murder a nerdy virgin, named Nick (Forrest), on his wedding day; and kidnap his wife, Bobby Sue (Marquette). A cowboy (Sullivan), claiming to be God, then shows up, and magically brings Nick back to life; so he can rescue his wife, and stop the evil biker gang. Although Nick is extremely weak, and inexperienced, he'll stop at nothing to save Bobby Sue; even if it means he has to die, very violently, multiple times.

The movie has some obvious production flaws, at times (some poor audio, weak acting and cheesy dialogue), but that's to be expected from a film like this. You can't go into a micro-budgeted B-horror flick, and not expect these things. It also has some pretty graphic violence, and a decent amount of explicit nudity, so it's definitely not a movie for everyone; but I think fans of the genre will be more than pleased. For debut filmmakers, on such a limited budget, the movie is very impressive! It's also a lot of fun! Some of the performances are pretty good (I especially like Forrest, in the lead), and the characters are all quirky and entertaining. Those looking for a lot of gruesome gore, and raunchy distasteful jokes (including a lot of dark religious humor), definitely should find what they're looking for. I love this type of 'Rodriguez and Tarantinoesque' grindhouse action flick, and this one definitely doesn't disappoint.

    All Hell Breaks Loose Review

All Hell Breaks Loose, the aptly titled feature film written by our main Movie Cynic The Vocabulariast, is a low budget indie film that will surely connect with fans of the Grindhouse or Exploitation genre of films; meaning that it is a low budget film that is so low budget that it shouldn't work, but ends up working, and gaining a following for that matter, because everyone involved actually gives a damn about making the movie they want to make.

The film's synopsis is simple: Nick (Nick Forrest) and Bobby Sue (Sarah Kobel Marquette) are enjoying their honeymoon in a park, drinking booze out of plastic cups when out of nowhere a group of hellacious bikers, known as Satan's Sinners, show up. The gang proceeds to kill the wimpy Nick and kidnap Bobby Sue because they believe she is the one to save them from damnation. However, after the gang exits stage left, a cowboy-esque God shows up to revive Nick and give him a chance (it ends up being multiple because Nick isn't a major bad-ass) at saving the love of his life. As I said, the synopsis is simple, but it works.

There are flaws throughout the film (i.e. the acting is a mixed bag with high and low spots and some of the special effects are beyond cheesy), but many of those flaws actually bring about a delightful ambiance to the film; assuming you are twisted in the head and like watching people on film get taken out in a brutal manner, like me. Now, however, this film has one major flaw: one that would probably just be a minor inconvenience; the audio quality. There are times in the film where the audio, mostly the dialogue, sounds like it was done in post production and an annoyance as the film progresses.

Again, the film has many flaws, but many of those flaws help make the film a fun experience. The thing is when you are working with a low budget on a film, you have to embrace your flaws and try to have fun with them; and as a result, when it comes to a brutal low budget film, All Hell Breaks Loose takes the cake and ends up being one hell of a time.

Final Synopsis: All Hell Breaks Loose hasn't its fair share of flaws, but god damn is this movie fun. If you like exploitation films, you'll like this… and, also, you're awesome. Points Lost: -1 for audio problems, -1 for the low spots in acting Lesson Learned: Never kill the virgin. Burning Question: Doesn't seeing a motor scooter make you want to ride it down the street and saying "Ciao" to people? All Hell Breaks Loose 8/10

My Review Of "All Hell Breaks Loose"

The basics of "All Hell Breaks Loose" is not completely original, the biker gang, innocent couple and horrorific intersection of lives is classic. What the film does offer is a fresh view of that classic in a creative and full throttled flick. I loved most of the crazy, evil characters in the biker gang, the action and humor hit on point, and the story was robust.

I have mixed emotions about the special effects. There is a hefty amount of both practical and CGI, plus Garner has an understanding of the right balance of both, I just felt the CGI gunshots and blood splatter did more to kill the good vibe of "All Hell Breaks Loose". However the practical gore and horror is worthy, and the grindhouse attitude and road horror feel forgive the CGI choices here.

Overall I enjoyed " All Hell Breaks Loose" and intend on adding it to my collection. It is a near perfect example of modern throwback to Cult Cinema. The CGI may turn off some viewers, and there is a lot of tongue- in-cheek humor, but it the exploitation, gore and guts that turn me on with this one. I think most modern grindhouse fans will appreciate this homage to those glory gory days of the cult film!
