In order to showcase the scratches on Nick's back during the bathroom fight, actor Cody Mobley asked a member of the crew with long nails to rip open his back to create the wounds seen in the film.
Actor Cody Mobley went on a supervised crash diet to lose enough muscle mass to play Nick. His diet consisted of one boiled chicken breast a day and Diet Coke. In the end, Cody lost 20 lbs in three weeks.
The lead actors Samm, Cody, and Alicia went through a vigorous 6 week rehearsal process that included bios, music playlists with annotations drawn from the real life bio of the director, acting workshops, and independent study in which the director and the actors would spend days together, discussing everything from the plot, background, and bios, to motivations from the real life characters and story.
