Christia Visser and Alison Botha in Alison (2016)
Raped. Disemboweled. Nearly decapitated. Dumped on the outskirts of a nature reserve, dead - or so they thought. She needed a hero that night, so that's what she became. This is Alison's tale. A tale of monsters, miracles and hope.

    Story of belief

What a story of belief and hanging on even at your lowest point. Excellent film!

    Excellent!

A very well directed piece of work, and a story for all who need inspiration. Hearing Alison Botha tell her version of events was chilling and sobering. This tale of survival is remarkable. The execution of the film was outstanding, and with its honest portrayal of events on the timeline (especially after the attack), it takes us into the beautiful direction of hope.

Easily one of the most amazing, powerful things I've ever seen...

I'm a paramedic so I may look at this differently than some. I can't imagine any way that her body survived this attack, but even beyond that, if you can believe it, her spirit survived, and that is nothing short of a miracle.

It's very graphic, so if you are triggered, or delicate to such things you should probably pass it by. But my life is much better because I've seen this movie.

I've seen some criticize the way that it's presented. I personally think that it's perfect in every way.

I'm willing to bet that you've never heard a story like this before, and I'll bet dollars to donuts that you never will again. It's that incredible.

Inspiring , horrific and satisfying .

I could not watch those monsters commit the actual crime . It was too graphic for me . However , I did watch the rest of the story. I found what she said after she survived inspiring . I also am of the same opinion as Alison that we do not value ourselves . We measure our success by our careers and the amount of wealth we have , rather than the people we are .

It is a miracle that Alison survived, Call it an act of G-D . Alison is a strong , courageous woman. A woman to be admired. I hope those 'men ' never get parole .

So you don't believe in miracles?

Alison's story shows the viewer the worst and best of human nature - and in no uncertain terms. Graphic, disturbing and emotional, Alison's incredible story is required viewing, but viewer discretion is definitely advised.

Alison Botha: I will never drive in a car without locking the doors. I will never again watch a film without marveling at every camera angle and the lighting and knowing how many people are in the room watching the person voice her thoughts. I will never again stop myself from crying when I feel the need. I will never again see a butterfly without taking it as a sign just for me.
