7/10

Being a huge Cortney Palm fan, I love seeing her get bigger and better roles!.

'TOURBILLON': Three and a Half Stars (Out of Five)

The new indie sci-fi drama starring Cortney Palm. Palm plays a woman that lives forever, that's formed a relationship with a clandestine group that she considers her family. When one of the group goes rogue, she's forced to make the most important decision of her endless life. The movie costars Chris Petrovski, Travis Laughlin, Emilio Palame, Valerie Kairys and Cecilia Yesuil Kim. It was written, co-produced, edited and directed by debut feature filmmaker Gene Ivery. I found the film to be really slow-paced, and extremely moody, but also somewhat interesting and well made.

Daniela (Palm) is a woman who was involved in a secret genetic program, over eighty years earlier, that left her unable to age since her twenties. She's bonded with a clandestine group of people, that also don't age. She spends her days recording her thoughts on tape, and desiring something much more from her seemingly endless life. She's also formed a passionate relationship with a young man named Adrian (Laughlin), who she longs to be closer to. When a member of her group goes rogue, everything suddenly changes for Daniela, and she must make a very important decision about her future (for the first time, in a very long time).

The movie has a very interesting plot, and the film is well shot and acted. Being a huge Cortney Palm fan (she's my favorite actress), I love seeing her get bigger and better roles. She definitely gets a chance to show off her more serious acting abilities in this film. It's definitely not as fun of a movie as things like 'ZOMBEAVERS' and 'SUSHI GIRL', but it is a well made and thought provoking sci-fi tale. It's somewhat reminiscent of films like 'BLADE RUNNER' (on a much smaller, and more intimate scale). It's also very slow-paced and extremely moody though. I think it's a great step for Palm in advancing her movie career, at the very least, on the positive side as well though.
